PTs, ATs, coaches, and athletes that are overseeing or going through a return to throw program, we offer this alternative. No more throw counts or using distance to gauge intensity. Instead, an individualized progression based on objective data. bit.ly/DataDrivenITP

A reminder that a week of “arm care” is not enough preparation for HS athletes to just let it rip the following week. Building workload takes time—if you don’t take the time to do it right, you’ll likely be forced to take the time to do it over.

Me: What’s your plan for today? Player: Probably throw a 7 or 8 WL at ~75%. With the off day tomorrow & another light day Monday I’ll have over 30 WL available Tuesday. Me: 🙂 Tracking throwing WL allows players to take ownership over their process. It’s freeing, not limiting.

We’ve developed a system for coaches, athletic trainers, and physical therapists that allows athletes to take ownership of their workload tracking and planning. Objective, individualized, and adaptable throwing programs for each athlete in your program. DM for more information!

I’m currently writing a throwing program—based on actual data—for an athlete ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD. It’s unreal. MLB orgs not using a @DrivelinePulse to manage out-of-season, in-season, or rehab throwing programs are leaving some seriously low hanging fruit on the tree.

@CaseyMulholland Q1) We didn't want to crowd the sheet & felt 4 was adequate to estimate throw counts for a given day. One could absolutely project 20 if they wanted. Q2) We don't know how to reliably calculate a CW prior to throwing and chose the most conservative route of assuming 0.0.

@M_C_Throwing Yes I get that but I think you are missing my question.. For q1 you are projecting 4 ranges. Why not 6 or 10 or 20? For q2 no athlete actually starts at 0 so projectively why wait for the CWL for 28 days especially on a RTT?

@CaseyMulholland 1) Torque values can be changed to fit the athlete at any point. If you think your average may be 17nm on a given day you can ballpark the number of throws beforehand. 2) We wait to put our full trust into the ACWR until 28 days of CW have been established.

@M_C_Throwing Also 2 questions… 1. Why only 4 projected torque values? 2. Why make the athlete wait 28 days to normalize ACR?

This tool has been huge for designing return-to-throw programs, whether athletes are returning from an injury or just a long period away from throwing. Remove the guesswork, individualize the program, and adjust when necessary—all in one place.

This is why it’s important to use torque to guide the progression of an ITP. It not only provides an objective guide, it also allows pitchers to throw from the mound sooner. Provide the framework—torque limit, ODW goal—and let them work.
Christopher Camp, MD@ChrisCampMD

DYK: Compared to pitching on flat ground, pitching from mound will ⬆️ velocity without changing elbow torque? Also...radar gun may not be ideal surrogate for elbow torque. 🤷‍♂️ Open access: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/23… @DowlingBrit @joshdinesmd @OJSM_SportsMed @MotusGlobal

The plan: Increase FB spin efficiency. Kill VB on the CH. Gain consistent feel of CB. Add a CT or SL. Looking forward to charting these same pitches in eight weeks!

Felt great to be back in the facility last night! This athlete crushed it on the remote workload program using the @MotusGlobal sleeve and was able to jump right into pitch design. Using @PitchlogicS we evaluated his current arsenal and set a plan for the coming months!

Using the @MotusGlobal sleeve this athlete has been able to build chronic workload in spite of the shutdown and Minnesota winter. First we built a base and now we’re adding intensity. When the facility opens back up he’ll be able to get on the mound without missing a beat!
