How it feels to argue with older people who think they're always right because they're older and more experienced than you

Women didn’t wake up and choose dependence. It was the result of centuries of exclusion from education, property ownership, income, mobility, and legal authority. Reliance on men wasn’t a personality trait or a lack of ambition; it was the only structure available. Feminism didn’t invent independence, it corrected a restriction. What hasn’t disappeared at the same pace is generational conditioning. Some women are actively unlearning it; others are still shaped by it. Before judging women or reducing them to names or objects, apply basic intelligence and historical awareness. Misogyny built this dynamic. It did not happen by chance.

There was once a traveler who said he knew the way to the mountain. He offered to guide a young eagle who was learning to fly. The eagle agreed, thinking the guide had sight. But along the journey, something strange happened: the guide kept tripping over stones and blaming the eagle for not warning him. Whenever the eagle pointed at the sun, the guide stared at her feathers instead. He heard every word as an insult because he had never learned to listen. The eagle carried her own water, but the guide drank it all and still complained of thirst. When the eagle tried to walk faster, the guide said she was ungrateful. When she slowed down, he said she was difficult.
