Great quote I heard from @DrChrisER today, “Practice makes permanent”…words to live by.

In “The Body Keeps Score” I came across the quote, “If you do something to a patient that you would not do to your friends, family or children consider whether you are unwittingly replicating a trauma from the patient’s past.”… makes me think of 4-point restraints in the ED

On my worst of days and hardest of shifts I promise to always advocate for my patients and call out biases. We owe it to our patients, especially those from underserved or marginalized communities.

I first met @SherylHeron in 2009 on a beach in St. Croix as a high school student asking for advice on how to become a doctor..now full circle at #SAEM23 both as EM docs seeing her recieve recognition from #ADIEM for her lifetime of dedication to DEI. It’s an honor.
