I never imagined this is the way I would celebrate @MacStacey10's graduation from high school @CantonAcademy.
It was definitely a "never say never" parent moment. 3 years ago, if you had asked me if I would have let him be absent from his graduation ceremony to chase some turkeys, I would have laughed REALLY loudly.
Today, I know in my soul it was the best decision I could have made for my son.
When I was 24, I set off to London, by myself, just for the adventure, and I've been through a LOT of school, but it was the best education I ever got.
Sunday night, I sent my child off on his own adventure, and I did it with peace knowing it wasn't traditional, it wasn't typical, but it was so very my Mac.
And I don't want him to live the typical, traditional life unless he chooses to. I want his whole life to be an adventure as long as he stays safe, responsible, true to his commitments, and off my payroll.
Go do good things, Bub...and bag every bird that crosses your path (as long as it is on public land or you have permission.)
I love you the most.
