@Macho_Man88 I didn't quite understand the attack; was it a Double Kienzan or an X-shaped Kienzan?

@cheer_up0059 Even Toriyama-sensei was in a dojinshi project: in 1989 was published the short manga "Rocky" in the dōjinshi collection Neko Jū Jisha to Sono Yūjin-tachi.

@PrinceGASVegeta Wait, in Toyotaro's AF, does Bra have any connection to Broly? I only remember him trying to kill the girl and then running away to try and train with Pikkon. Speaking of which, where's Pikkon to help?! In that manga, he seemed extremely strong because he was pressuring Goku!!!

@NazChris_dj @JordanLDurham @grifin_station Is there still no artbook by Nakatsuru with works related to Toriyama-sensei? I’d buy it instantly! Anyway, see you soon in Naples, I hope to have the chance to ask you questions like these.

Two years have passed since the news of Toriyama sensei's passing. It's already been two years. It's already been two years. It's been two years already. Whether it was meant to be, or just a coincidence, we had established the kosokoso broadcasting station about a year before his death, which allowed us to maintain contact with him while he was still alive. Even Mr. Torishima hadn't worked directly with Mr. Toriyama for some time, and 2023 was the first opportunity in a while. It was during the publication of "Dr. Mashirito's Ultimate Manga Techniques" that he contacted Mr. Toriyama directly to request an interview and the illustration of Goku and Mashirito for the cover. That interview is still available to read and listen to. Afterward, Mr. Torishima and I were able to arrange a radio appearance with Mr. Toriyama. It was the moment Mr. Torishima called him and requested his appearance. Mr. Toriyama thought about it for about five seconds (!) (honestly, I still think that was amazing). He kindly offered, but of course, he's someone who doesn't appear in the media, so his appearance wasn't possible at that time. At the time, I might have been thinking (somewhat simplistically) that maybe next year I'd have another chance to ask... no, I'll try asking! Again and again! I didn't persistently press Mr. Torishima either. By missing that opportunity, we lost it forever. To be completely honest, it weighed heavily on me as a great regret, a tremendous loss of opportunity. I was frustrated and sad. And it was all my fault. Since then, as a long-time reader and fan of the author, I've reflected on the 30-year journey since my first encounter with him, drawing parallels between it and my own life. I'll just write whatever comes to mind here, but there's a one-shot story (which was animated) not included in the comics, called "Dr. Mashirito ABARE-chan," featuring a villainous Abare-chan, who looks exactly like Arale, developed by Mashirito Jr. Sometimes I wonder if Mr. Toriyama had some kind of supernatural power to see the future. Because of Mr. Toriyama, I was able to meet Kazuhiko Torishima, arguably the greatest manga editor of all time. And because of Mr. Torishima, I was able to meet Mr. Toriyama. And now, after more than 30 years, I've embarked on a journey with Mr. Torishima to explore talent and the art of creation—a journey of "asking Shenron for help." To put it dramatically, my mission is, as I wrote, "to explore talent and the art of creation," and also, "to connect to the future, unearth, and record the truth behind the creation and passion of that era, built over 50 years by creators like Mr. Torishima, Mr. Horii, editors, and manga artists, through Mr. Toriyama's works." Currently, everyone and their dog is into games, anime, and manga; Japanese entertainment IP businesses are sweeping the world and attracting intense attention. However, I often feel that superficial discussions about mega-hit theories, business theories, and monetization theories are rampant, while the crucial aspect of creation—the dedication and trust of people who work with talent—is neglected or ignored as the project progresses. While the latest technologies and methods such as AI, CG, and DX are very important, they are merely tools. To borrow Mr. Horii's words, a hit is a result, not the most important perspective. However, I feel that fewer and fewer people truly understand this point these days. As for the approach, it's not about old or new, but rather what our predecessors, those before us and even further back, have passed down is passion, enthusiasm, discovery, trust, and a careful approach to talent.

@NazChris_dj @JordanLDurham @grifin_station I absolutely agree! Nakatsuru is the best heir to the legacy. I hope his manga works get reprinted someday, like "Dr. Slump Just Came Back" (recently shown on your podcast) and the "Cashman Saving Soldier remake", which was never fully collected after its original publication.

At the fan meeting the day before yesterday, in the presence of Torishima san,Kondo san,and Takeda sanーthe only three people in the world who directly worked with Toriyama-sensei on the manga Dragon Ball—Torishima san commented, "Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is the only person in the world who has inherited Toriyama-sensei's art style, accurately depicting Toriyama-kun's magnificent drawings from his prime, his distinctive line work, the expressions and depictions of the characters, and even rearranging them to capture the touch from angles that even Toriyama-sensei himself wouldn't draw. He is the best in the world in this regard." Not only is his work similar, like a copy, but animator Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru has also captured the warmth, expressions, and even the playful, mischievous atmosphere of Toriyama-sensei's work, earning the seal of approval from those involved. In that sense, he is a world heritage, and the pinnacle of those who can draw Toriyama-sensei's art.

@NazChris_dj @JordanLDurham @grifin_station 2/2 It would also be interesting to draw a parallel with other dōjinshi artists who were later hired by Shueisha for works related to Dragon Ball, such as Naho Ooishi, Toyotaro, and DragonGarow Lee.

@NazChris_dj @JordanLDurham @grifin_station 1/2 It would be nice if the KosoKoso podcast also talked about the brief dōjinshi career of Toriyama-sensei: in 1989 he published the short manga "Rocky" in the dōjinshi collection Neko Jū Jisha to Sono Yūjin-tachi.
