One year ago (February 13th, 2025) I officially passed off the baton of senior pastor of Redeemer Church of Dubai to Pastor TJ Smith. We took this photo on his first Sunday.
I’m grateful for his humble and zealous leadership over this past year and I’m excited about year 2!

Nicea conferences taking place in Turkey and England this week.
One good outcome of these conferences would be more churches making the #NiceneCreed part of their Statement of Faith. This would better root us historically and ensure the creed is taught regularly to new members.

These are two of my heroes. Abet and Liza Tionghoy were founding members of Redeemer Dubai. They’ve been steady, never in any controversy, fervent encouragers, and been faithful in suffering. They are moving to the Philippines on Thursday leaving a huge legacy behind.

As he shared in a recent Christmas letter, the physical and cognitive limitations arising from his Parkinson’s Disease have forced him to end his speaking engagements and other ministry involvements. Along with scores around the world who have been touched by his decades of biblically faithful writing, teaching, and church leadership, we want to express gratitude to Don for the founding vision and ongoing guidance he has provided The Gospel Coalition, which marks its 20th anniversary next year.
Please ask the Lord to show mercy to Don and his family, granting them the knowledge of him and the sweetness of his presence as they walk through this trial. Though he is slowing down and facing significant health challenges, we take comfort in the truth Don is fond of reminding us: “I am not suffering from anything that a good general resurrection can’t fix.”

Finished teaching Numbers exposition series today. That’s the conclusion of 25 years of work on the Pentateuch. What an incredible privilege. “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:27
