No question mental toughness can be what separates the best in sport but surely both of you aren’t judging her mental toughness on yesterday’s match?!

Does anyone else take fruit to school for their lunch during December and regularly bring the same bit of fruit back and forward from home to school? This week, it’s a Pink Lady for me.

The community group at Knockbreck were extra busy this afternoon learning new skills. A huge thank you to Charlotte Seddon for not only donating all the beautiful flowers but also helping the pupils and staff to make these lovely posies. Some lucky people tomorrow.

So proud of P6 pupils from Knockbreck and Inver. They worked so hard to deliver another successful gala dinner through the ‘Adopt a Chef’ programme. DYW at its best. Raising £1200 for two local charities, Tain bike track and MFR cash for kids. Fantastic community @DPaterson61

“Spend time with the ‘hard’ kids”. They are the most in need of our playfulness, humour and understanding. The relationship will have its ups and downs but a patient & empathetic approach will ultimately provide a positive template for how they relate to others in the future.

Building relationships with children is vital and there are usually opportunities to d that - building relationships with family also important but often harder to do - sometimes they need to same kind of nurture the kids need! edweek.org/tm/articles/20…

“You do not shape school culture in your office, & you certainly do not build it w/ emails & memos. You change culture through relationships...one conversation at a time. You shape it in the halls, in the classrooms...”~@SteeleThoughts @ToddWhitaker, #EssentialTruthsforPrincipals

Meeting young people’s psychological needs in school is not just a good thing in itself ... Here’s new research showing that it raises #attainment too So any attempt to “close gaps” needs to start with nurture & relationships - and those may be enough frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
