The difference with Nike EYCL vs other circuits is you’ll never see Boo Williams or Mac Irvin Fire caliber programs in the 2nd tier. On some brands, that ‘2nd tier’ is better than another brand’s top circuit. Exclusive and better quality competition. Coaches recruit programs.

The comparison between certain programs shouldn’t even be discussed. Some programs are on completely different missions, so no need to compare or have any hate. Our mission is not the same as 99% of programs. We do not care about being a great AAU recruiter or having 20 teams.

Some take pride in being an AAU recruiter, and wear it as a badge of honor. Others don’t. Whatever your method is — at least have the ability to help them advance their careers and grow on/off the court. Don’t recruit them if you can’t actually help them as a player and person.

Recruiting accomplished players and developing players from the ground up so they can become accomplished are two VERY different things. Some programs treat AAU/club ball like a recruiting playground — similar to college hoops. Others coach whoever shows up and develops them.

To all out-of-state players sending inquiries: @TeamProgressBB is based in Portland, OR. We practice 3+ times per week — not optional. If you’re not in OR or WA, you’re probably too far to attend practice consistently. Some programs let players meet them at games. We don’t.

The 4th seeded Tualatin Timberwolves were hungry for a third OSAA 6A title in five years and it took stuff of legend from junior Pat Vialva Jr. with consecutive 3’s in the final seconds to stun No. 2 Central Catholic 70-69 at the Chiles Center.

So much talk about EYCL, Adidas Gold, EYBL, Rise, Puma, etc. Reality: very few kids get recruited randomly. D1 coaches recruit programs. If you’re in a good program & you’re a D1 player, they’ll make sure you’re seen at the level you need to be seen at, circuit or no circuit.

If the coach don’t care about their players outside of basketball, DO NOT GO TO THAT SCHOOL. No facilities, uniforms or NIL money outweighs a coach who only cares about you in a transactional way. You will not be successful.

Only about 18% of men’s college basketball players compete at the NCAA Division I level. Roughly 82% play elsewhere including D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO. There are thousands of opportunities outside D1, proving great college basketball exists at every level. @nresultsrecruit
