@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 “Toby Fox is not selling bikes”
How would you feel if you hadn’t had breakfast this morning?
English

@Macrosis2020 @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 No dude, your metaphor is just too dumb and simplistic (most likely on purpose) to be applied to what we're arguing about here. Toby Fox is not selling bikes people are getting upset about they can't ride, but I see specially after this that there's no point in talking to you.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 Just don’t buy a product you can’t consume. Widening the distribution in this case costs them nothing (since it’s a digital game). It makes perfect sense to sell the game even where most people wouldn’t be able to play it.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 Now you’re starting to overcomplicate the metaphor and misrepresent it by trying to apply too much of the real situation into it and warping what the metaphor was supposed to say in the first place.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 I mean, you’ve already listed compromise B, which is perfectly acceptable. He’s already taking a loss in revenue to not have to do something he doesn’t feel comfortable doing.
Unofficial TLs is a different matter, too. It is not under his name. Anyone playing it recognizes that.
English

@Macrosis2020 @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 B) Assume bilingual people will be the ONLY ones to be interested in your game. Also by doing that the only thing that happens is that people who don't speak those languages rely on fansubs that could twist his precious artistic vision even more, so to me it's a lose-lose.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 If you see a bike being sold at a store, but you can’t ride a bike, do you:
A) NOT buy the bike.
or
B) Yell at the manufacturer to include training wheels.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 This is just completely warped. Why would you pay for a product you can’t consume? To support the creator only? If someone decides to just give money to you (money that you can’t just choose to refuse), do you suddenly owe them something that they demand?
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 I think you’re undermining what a translation is a tad bit. To find an appropriate equivalent of every single event in a different language, and to cater to a different culture, is basically to write a new work altogether. It’s not something that should be done out of obligation.
English

@Macrosis2020 @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 I respect Toby Fox artistric integrity, if I didn't value his art I woulnd't like UT/DT. But you can only take it so far, and if part of your fandom/customers speak a language the least you can do is compromise: translation is not a "favor" fans should ask for.
English

@LoomingDesastre @teckmodia @angelsvis444 Buddy, I’m Vietnamese. I can drop dead and Deltarune wouldn’t have an official Vietnamese translation. None of us are entitled to one as long as the artist isn’t comfortable making one.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 Besides, it’s not like he’ll NEVER make a Spanish TL, something might happen to reassure him that his artistic vision will stay intact. Maybe he’ll learn Spanish, or a very trusted source will offer to provide TL. Regardless, his issue with the process is a common and valid one.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 No no, it’s not that it’s hard, rather, the normal process used by many authors just isn’t enough to ease the worries of some authors who particularly cares about artistic integrity.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 Believe it or not, supervising a translation is a massively different process depending on if you actually know the language or not.
English

@teckmodia @LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 You’re missing the point here. Yes, many authors do that. It’s just not something some authors want to do. Hiring a professional translator doesn’t guarantee that their output will be one with your vision. The only way to ensure that is if you understand the output thoroughly.
English

@LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 Because he’s not comfortable with releasing a product under his name that he cannot ascertain whether or not it coveys exactly what he wants to convey. That’s why he doesn’t release translations in languages he can’t speak. Accessibility doesn’t outweigh that for some artists.
English

@Macrosis2020 @angelsvis444 No esta obligado, pero cuando tenes un juego tan amado globalmente porque no te esforzas en tratar de sacarlo en esas comunidades que te han apoyado tanto. Porque le importa tanto el japones y el español no?
Español

@LoomingDesastre @angelsvis444 He is not obligated to do so, andthe money he makes is irrelevant. Being concerned about being able to personally oversee translations of your own work is absolutely valid for an artist.
English

@angelsvis444 Porque hay juegos indies traducidos a otros idiomas que los creadores no hablan personalmente? Porque toby fox no puede ser críticado por ni intentarlo cuando es millonario?
Español

@i4kugisaki @AestheticGamer1 Keeping the integrity of the artist’s vision should always matter most when putting art out into the world. An artist caring about that should not be something people should question let alone disparage.
English

@AestheticGamer1 the thing is, his personal insight shouldn’t matter more than accessibility. maybe it makes sense for deltarune, but undertale is 10 years old! it makes no sense, he could’ve hired trusted people to translate the game by now.
English

(1/2) It's not a personal attack, & they've been open they want to translate Deltarune into a ton of different languages in the future. But Toby Fox only knows English & Japanese to give his personal oversight to, & two languages+all the different platforms makes it a huge hurdle
madu ⟡ tadc spoilers!@i4kugisaki
the fact toby fox has been constantly ignoring brazil and, honestly, america latina as a whole, even tho his fanbase here is HUGE will forever disappoint me immensely. might be the one thing i really dislike about the guy. 😭
English

@Macrosis2020 @RyouKTS “Doesn’t want to have sex with Andrew” she rapes him???
English

Is it still time to fight people over their opinions on the internet? Because half the things on the right are still wrong lmao.

@gloopbastard (Get the DLSite version. It’s censored but has more content and an extra ending.)
English

@dreamsofmidnigh @ZeroShift7 @DKliger1 @loltheno716 I remember enjoying the first 3 (played 3 not 03), then getting skill issued by 4 and never really touched it again.
English

@ZeroShift7 @DKliger1 @loltheno716 From the start. They are easy, short (at least the first 5 can be done in a 20 hours total) and it will hit you even more with the changes Rance and co. have along. Rance X is also a love letter to the whole franchise as the last one but really a top 10 games ever. (Yes, ever!!)
