It's Monday -- let's make a mix tape!
Hit me with your favorite 80s song.
I'll start: Missing Persons "Destination Unknown."

@AntiTrumpCanada @JGooballs Canada was the reason I took French in high school! In the 70s!

@JGooballs @Adora2000 Always loved this Stones song! The misspelling in the video always made me laugh!

@Goobers32583119 @Adora2000 This was instantly my theme song the first time I heard it! Remember that era fondly.

This is an impressive way to save the film industry one theater at a time. They continue to amaze and impress me with the various ways they fill their seats!
Looking forward to have ‘The Silent Film’ shown there.

VERY JEALOUS!!! The best I get is a soft touch on my finger occasionally when they take their peanut from my fingers. I’m showing him your video today. 😉

@mikeastahl Love these mini Ted Talks!
Been working on the marketing before the final script. But I’ve never really thought about Festivals. You do give me a better perspective because I’m not looking for a deal or validation.
Now the 2nd paragraph is up my alley.
Thx for the post!

Film festivals exist to help films find audiences. Many first-time filmmakers go for the wrong reasons.
They go for the deal. For validation. For the Sundance dream.
Festivals actually give you:
- A hard deadline that forces your film to be finished
- A room full of people watching your work together for the first time
- Feedback before wide release, when you can still shape the story around the film
- Connections that do not happen over cold email
The deal might come. The validation might not. The connections almost always do.
Go to every screening of your film. Stay for every Q+A. Talk to everyone in the lobby afterward. This is how you build fans and an audience.
The film is done. Now the real work begins. Don't forget you should be planning the marketing of your film early on and NOT let it be an afterthought.

Currently working on my deck .
Options :
1- crying
2- breaking my laptop
3- breathing again and again
Building a deck is harder than writing the script.

@ATRightMovies ‘The American Gigalo’ and I still have it. Paid through the nose for it AND the player but loved (and still love) this film!
And the soundtrack as well! (On both cassette & album)
