Hi friends. Unfortunately I don't spend any time here any more. If you would like to re-friend me (I don't mean leave here, I would never ask anyone to do that - your social media, your choice), we can reacquaint over at IG/Threads. @mopedronin" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">threads.net/@mopedronin

Working fiction magic for PQ2025. Good stuff. A third finished. Working with Rising Phoenix Games. Last year's project (with RFG and Frenzy Kitty Games) was BIOHEIST: THE HELLFLESH HEIST, a biopunk TRPG set in future Kyoto. Check it here: drivethrurpg.com/en/product/475…

"The Dog" is DONE. A 7000-word far-future #samuraipunk #shortstory that is a bit like #Kurosawa samurai in a Vampire Hunter D (monsters, mutants, etc.) world. I need to find a home for it now.

Love all y'all and I WOULD NEVER tell you how or where to spend your time. But if you HAPPEN to be on Threads as well... let's hook up! → mopedronin Just FYI, this is NOT an invite to start a 90s Windows vs Apple type discussion in the comments. Thx. =)

Video: this lady was livestreaming herself having a meal near a river and encountered a large rodent that seemed to want a snack. Is this animal a nutria?

So, do you have a favorite game mechanic? Any game, system, or setting. Just a cool or interesting mechanic that you really enjoy? 🧐🤔

The Fellowship of the Thing - Official Blackmoor
When I was a kid the rules were simple. Rolling a character took 10 - 15 minutes and the unspoken rule was that you had to do it together with everyone and the DM present. RPGs were a social game even when we created our PCs. Then everyone would be chomping at the bit to get exploring and doing the fun stuff. There was an implicit social contract that the DM had to treat players fairly, but would also provide deadly and scary challenges. The biggest pay out for adventuring was in the dungeon. This is where we wanted to go in search of treasure and magic prizes. The dungeon setting itself was a blend between fantasy and horror. Most of us had read some fantasy novels and also seen a lot of classic horror films. We loved it when our DM could get under our skin and scare the crap out of us. We'd even take turns being the DM and do our best to psyche out our friends. High stakes adventure meant you'd get immersed in a fantasy that was both enchantingly beautiful and deadly in equal measures. All I can say is, If you've never played in the old way, you are missing out on pure fun. My goal is to promote the joy of Classic RPG play.
