Being overworked and not appreciated is something that is rampant in Nigeria hospital. Imagine one nurse manning A&E, no HCA, no porter, just you and the DR. No matter the no of patient you see, you will take samples, take samples to lab, get medication from pharmacy, reposition patient, transfer patient to ward, then do YOUR nursing duty with it. And then get what are you doing, you are not doing anything, you are being lazy, “IN MY TIME”. Just a sign of a user. I remember loving having emergency, to not praying for emergency because when you are done, you are basically useless and you work won’t still be appreciated. Sometimes it’s not even about the money. They will come and still find one thing to talk about, for someone you’ve overworked.
