I've lately seen folks on here say they've felt guilty for getting books (mine and other authors) from the library, or people insinuating some authors might be against libraries. This is nonsense, and here's a thread on how using your local library supports authors.

I want to brag about one of my students, Lizy Bean (shared with her permission). I give students a lot of flexibility on what they want their term project to look like. She decided on a Haeckel inspired naturalist journal on Cephalopod evolution and she absolutely nailed it.

@Wronskizzian I had the same issue. I started using GoFormative instead of canvas quizzes. You can see live progress and provide individual feedback in real time. There’s also options to have kids show their work!

This year, I introduced scientific models with the start of our discussion of cellular transport. Ss were asked to draw a model to explain how the cell membrane is semipermeable. Love some of the ideas they came up with!
