Biopsies and FNA tests can be expensive and inefficient for diagnosing canine skin lesions. That’s why Lynx is working on creating a non-invasive test with the goal of making canine skin cancer screening more accessible. What do you think? cc: @_buildspace

#buildinpublic Day 19 (Missed a day, caught up in Physics) Today I took a bit of a break to take a nap after a week of sleep deprivation, but I planned out my goals for the weekend. Tomorrow, I'll be working on testing and fine-tuning the Lynx model based on web data.

Goals 5th-11th: - Finish sending IP materials to my patent lawyer - Improve Lynx web app prototype on Figma to be fully transferrable to React Native code - Finish work on Lynx AI model trained on the small dataset (achieve 80% acc. on val. set)

#buildinpublic Day 14 Today is a continuation of yesterday's goals, got caught up in schoolwork. In retrospect, I should have tried to break down my work better throughout the week to have less schoolwork over the weekend.

#buildinpublic Day 13 Finished my initial proof of concept work, will improve the accuracy of the test model, and try to get more data next week. Tonight I'd like to continue to work on IP materials and get the web app development platform set up.

#buildinpublic Day 12 Chose a patent lawyer and found ways to work on the proof of concept for Lynx during class time today (there were class presentations). Tonight, continuing the proof of concept work and sending some materials for IP work.

#buildinpublic Day 11 No tests tomorrow, so I have more time tonight to work on Lynx! Met with another lawyer one of my TKS connections referred me to. Have one more meeting tomorrow before deciding. Today, working on the proof of concept for the AI model on veterinary data.

For me, this means I need to file by May. If I could give advice to myself a year ago, I would have wanted to start speaking with patent lawyers and learn about IP a lot earlier, as soon as I coded the first model. 2/2

I definitely should have been more careful about IP with Lynx. After a public disclosure of your product (can even just be talking to someone about how it works without getting them to sign an NDA), you have 12 months to file a patent in the US and Canada. 1/2
