my pet toads on the other hand react like they are melting when you mist them (despite the fact that they will sit in their water dish for 12 hours at a time sometimes.)

my source is I own tree frogs and they love being misted like that. Occasionally they will try to Eat the water as well and get mad when they cannot. So he’d probably try drinking it too by lapping it up with his tongue.
