Ever since March and March has started, we have Marched with memorandums to GOVERNMENT, we have held countless meetings with GOVERNMENT, we have presented to parliament that is GOVERNMENT, when we do operations to remove illegal immigrants we do operations with the police and GOVERNMENT, when we make our demands we make them to GOVERNMENT but for some odd reason when people write their think pieces they always say we are fighting the wrong people…? If the goal is to push government to enforce existing laws, then maybe the next step is focusing more on legal and policy pressure instead of only public protests. For example: 1- Taking government departments to court when they fail to enforce immigration or labour laws. 2-Demanding regular public reports from Home Affairs and SAPS on arrests, deportations, border control, and corruption cases. 3-Pushing for stricter action against employers who knowingly hire undocumented workers illegally. 4- Working with communities to document specific cases properly instead of general accusations. 5- Mobilising people to vote around clear policy demands so the pressure becomes political, not only emotional. •6-Exposing corruption inside Home Affairs, municipalities, and border management because illegal systems often survive through corruption networks. 7- Engaging business forums and unions, since immigration issues are also tied to labour exploitation and wages. That way the conversation stays focused on accountability, law enforcement, and policy solutions instead of communities fighting each other.
