Somali Security Forces Seize Major Al-Shabaab Financial Hub
The security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia have taken control of what was the largest financial hub used by Al-Shabaab in southern Somalia.
The area of Ugunji, where the group collected a significant portion of its revenue inside the country, was captured by government forces yesterday. This marks one of the most significant victories achieved by the Somali government in recent years.
Ugunji hosted Al-Shabaab courts that handled various legal cases, as well as financial offices responsible for operations in the Banaadir and Lower Shabelle regions, which had been active for the past 15 years.
Intelligence obtained from within Al-Shabaab had indicated that the group derived the majority of its income, estimated at around 70%, from Banaadir and Lower Shabelle. This revenue stream is now expected to be severely disrupted following the loss of Ugunji.

Breaking News
Another Senior Al Shabaab operative eliminated
Credible reports indicate that Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), working in close coordination with international partners, has eliminated an Al Shabaab operative identified as Abdirahman Hassan aka Burhaan Gaab, a key figure responsible for planning explosives attacks and targeted assassinations across the Banaadir and Lower Shabelle regions.
Intelligence sources confirm that the militant had been under sustained surveillance and was a priority target for Somali intelligence and its partners operating in Lower Shabelle due to his direct involvement in attacks that caused significant civilian casualties. The precision operation that neutralized him was conducted in the Hantiwadaag area of Lower Shabelle after a deliberate, intelligence led pursuit.

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is planning an official state visit to Laascaanood, the capital of the North Eastern State administration, expected to take place in the coming days.
Highly placed sources close to the Office of the President have confirmed that extensive preparations for the visit are underway. This historic visit would mark the first time a Somali president has officially traveled to Laascaanood since the collapse of the central government, underscoring its exceptional national significance.
The visit carries profound political, sovereign, and unifying importance, and is widely viewed as a landmark step toward reinforcing national unity, consolidating federal authority, and affirming the Federal Government of Somalia’s full support for the North Eastern administration. It also reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, stability, and the preservation of Somalia’s territorial integrity.

I firmly reject PM Netanyahu’s declaration recognizing Somaliland. This violates international law and threatens Somalia’s sovereignty and unity. We stand united with the Somali nation to defend our territorial integrity. 🇸🇴 #Somalia

Together with Members of Parliament from North Eastern region-KE, we jointly hosted the President of the North-Eastern State of Somalia H.E President Abdiqadir Aw-Ali (Firdhiye) in Nairobi.
In attendance were Hon. Bashir Abdullah (Mandera North), Hon. Adan Daud (Wajir East), Hon. Yussuf Muliro (Wajir West), and Hon. Mohamed Elmi (former MP & former Minister). Also present was Hon. Ali Ifiye (Assistant Minister, FGS) and a prominent businessman, Roble Garad.
Our discussions focused on matters of mutual interest—deepening cross-border cooperation, strengthening people-to-people ties, and advancing shared priorities that deliver real impact for our communities on both sides of the border.

Violating federalism was fine. Violating the shared constitution was fine. Violating consensus based governance was fine. Violating resource sharing was fine. Unilaterally signing oil deals was fine. All of that was perfectly acceptable, apparently. But the moment you get called a slave, suddenly you realize the entire place is a complete circus.
It’s almost poetic. You spend years assisting in the fragmentation and destruction of the very agreements meant to protect you, and then act shocked when you finally learn your true position. When you’re the help and you mistake yourself for part of the team, the buyers remorse hits differently.
It really is a 21st century slave story. A group of people who willingly handed over their dignity, their leverage, and their autonomy, and now stand there stunned, grinning awkwardly, because the owners simply called them what they turned themselves into.

Dear Senator
I’ve read and re-read your post and honestly, I had to check twice to confirm it wasn’t posted by your parody account. I’m ashamed this level of confusion is coming from someone holding public office.
I regret to inform you that your logic has officially applied for maternity leave and even common sense didn’t show up for work. Being a leader doesn’t confer any privileges; it imposes responsibility; it demands the rare courage to think before tweeting.
Your Bill is the intellectual equivalent of Wi-Fi at a political rally weak, unstable, and full of interruptions.
This is a pure case of when reasoning goes broke, arrogance starts buying airtime.
