@PempheroMphande @geoftau Which ones specifically?

For the avoidance of doubt, we do not mean that he used his personal money. That is why I said he undertook key national infrastructural development. Public officers are entrusted with managing public resources for the benefit of all citizens. Therefore, Presidents, as public officers, can be judged by how effectively they utilise public resources for national development. And I submit to you that Dr Banda, who died almost thirty years ago, did more than all the Presidents we have had, including the current one, such that much of what he built and established is what still runs this country today. I have only cited a few examples for you!

A Public holiday should honor those who uplifted a nation not those who tore it apart. Kamuzu Banda’s legacy is stained with brutality, repression and the blood of innocent souls. To set aside a day in his name is an insult to every family that grieved under his reign.

On 9 September 1964, a rare moment of political conscience unfolded in Malawian Parliament. Henry Chipembere, Minister of Education and MP for Fort Johnston East ,(Mangochi), resigned from government not for power, but for principle he told parliament plainly...

For me, Kamuzu Banda is not a man to be missed. He may have shaped Malawi, but he shaped it in his own image one we still struggle to escape from.
