@Coach_K_EHS @Bball_CO It’s why we’re rated the 46th best place to play basketball. It translates in how few D1 athletes are produced. What’s the term they call us.. a flyover state 🤷🏽♂️

@Bball_CO You guys are missing the boat here. Colorado does not have a strong basketball culture. The hotbeds like DFW, SoCal, Seattle, DMV etc have a strong culture. Those kids live to hoop. Kids like that in Colorado are few and far between.

Got to be competitive
I stand by not everyone needs to be playing club ball.
I would wager that many would benefit more trying to be the best player at the local rec

@GalenHarkness @Bball_CO I started coaching kids even younger to help improve understanding earlier but what’s also noticed is our parents parent kids a lot softer here in CO. The moment adversity comes, parents pull their kid. We won’t let them grow in adverse conditions.

@GalenHarkness @Bball_CO I’ve traveled my teams all over the country and what I’ve noticed outside of the bodies being bigger everywhere else. Our overall IQ is lower, we over dribble, we can’t defend because we don’t understand angles, and just basic concepts that everyone else already understands.

The irony of what you just observed is that these events did not need a D1 live period to have those 30-35 non-D1 coaches watch them play

Spent this past weekend at two live period events in SoCal. Several observations. 1. Extremely expensive. Talked to several parents who could not afford to pay and watch their kid play. 2. Saw several JUCO, NAIA, D3, and D2 coaches. I would say around a total of maybe 30-35 colleges. Did not see one D1 college coach. I do know many coaches watch the live streaming. BUT number of coach attendees dramatically down from pre Covid years. 3. Spoke with a coach who has coached all levels. Said out of hundreds of kids he watched , only about 15 could play college hoops. WE CANT KEEP DOING THIS. TO EXPENSIVE, TO MANY TEAMS, TO MANY TRNS. @MEdwardsBball I also feel like the NBA scouts and coaches get to see a lot of those players at the NBA Top 100 camps and there isn’t a big separation once they are playing together and can make that evaluation.

This Is 🧢…..What NBA Coach has time to physically go watch EYBL and 3SSB Games, b/c that’s the only way you can make that evaluation! And if he is spending hours watching them, he’s not doing his Job at the NBA Level at all! 🤣

Talked to an NBA coach today….he stated that there isn’t a drop off from EYBL to 3SSB….he said the only difference is that there are more reclass guys in Nike 🤷🏾♂️…

Our @MagicColorado 16U team made it to the final 4 of Adidas Gold Session 2. We fell short but I'm proud of how we competed. I averaged 9.6 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2 apg and 1.6 spg. I also hit the go ahead 3 to win the game for our team to advance to the final four.

Another good weekend out in California. Made it to the final four but just came up short against a good team. A lot to learn and improve on. Looking forward to getting back with @RJHS_Hoops in June then going back to Rock Hill for 3SSG championship!
