@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum …yes? reddits full of performative fake-woke socdems and libshits
English

@ididnttouchlucy @ReviewsPossum Ah, Reddit. Infamously known for being anti-Marx.
English

@JoesPapajo57246 @BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum So how much someone desires it determines its value… which is my point. Value comes from the consumer, and it is subjective.
English

@MagicMan720866 @BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum Marx never said labour time = value. Socially necessary labour time is what you’re looking for. A random hole provides no use to anyone and would therefore have no value as a commodity regardless of the labour time put into digging it.
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum Yes, and? I understand your point, it’s just not relevant here. You could have all the workers you have to pay, and price a good high enough to pay said workers, and cover the time and materials costs… but if nobody wants it, the value is still $0. Value comes from the consumer.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum you are either too stupid to see or trolling at this point. Certain commodities cant be sold under a certain price, because the price would be lower than the costs
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum No? Not what I’m saying at all. Idiotic sellers also exist.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum so youre saying that REALISTICALLY selling a tone of steel for one dollar isnt possible because of monopolies or idiotic consumers? loooool
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum If use value is subjective, so is exchange value, and vice versa. So value is subjective. Period.
Depends on the situation. Either some consumers are idiots, or there is a monopoly in place. Neither makes value anything but subjective.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum exchange value is, but commodity fetishism exist. Wonder why certain commodities cannot be sold under a certain price?
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum Yeah so value is subjective and not based on labor, retard.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum yeah, thats the point of use value - its subjectivity, retard
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum Conservative-leaning libertarian, actually.
Use value is also subjective. The nugget was clearly useful for the sake of personal enjoyment, fetish or not. Meanwhile you can find all the uses for the hole in your backyard you want. If nobody wants it, you’ve wasted your time.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum as i said, this is called a commodity fetishsm.
commodities have exchange value because of their use value, and labour = exchange value. If something has no use value, it has no exchange value either.
Marx did not invent ltv btw. You liberals always argue with Smith, not Marx
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum It does. Prices are simply information on how much a person is willing to pay… ie how valuable it is to that person.
If labor = value, then a random hole you dug in your backyard for several years, that nobody wants, would be worth a fortune.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum the price still does not represent the value of that nuggest.it is called commudity fetishism

This is economically illiterate. The capitalist doesn’t steal value, he supplies the capital, risk, factory and know-how that makes production possible. Workers trade labor for agreed wages. Customers set the real value. Billionaires create it; the IRS takes 48% of your check.
fiat money@fiat_money
English

@BolshevikCake @ReviewsPossum Value is subjective. If someone’s willing to pay $10,000 for an amogus nugget, you’re gonna treat that nugget like it’s worth $10,000. Even if the guy who bought it is an idiot.
English

@MagicMan720866 @ReviewsPossum price =/= value

@Chad_Moats @TimePreference_ So… supporting countries dealing with communist revolutions, which the USSR helped with. At best your argument here is that both countries fucked with each other, otherwise you have to concede the US was helping those countries defend themselves.
So how did the USSR lose?
English

@MagicMan720866 @TimePreference_ US actions involved extensive, often covert, operations to stop the spread of communism including proxy wars (Korea, Vietnam), coups (Chile 1973), embargoes (Cuba), supporting t rebel groups (Nicaragua, Afghanistan), and espionage, sabotage, and support for autocratic regimes.

@Arealmfngl Did *I* go down to the Congo, conquer a people, force them to work the rubber trees, and cut their hands off when they failed to meet a quota?
No. There isn’t an amount of apology any white person should be expected to give to a black person.
English

no amount of apology can ever undo what white people did to Black people.
