The projects put together a media business idea, a business plan, create research to back up their proposal via focus groups and other methods, design a presentation for possible investors and create sample content to show what the brand could do.

All of us at Cardiff University Magazine Journalism are pleased to announce that three graduates of our MA course have been shortlisted for the FIPP - Connecting Global Media annual award for the best project to create a new media business from scratch.

The shortlisted three are: George Phillips, Sophie Colson and Becky George. Congratulations to all, and a big shout out to Sylkia J. Cartagena and @FIPPWorld for supporting this strand of work which is about innovation and thinking about the future. Winner to be unveiled soon.
