Can we stop calling children who read graphic novels, ‘reluctant readers’ please. Just because they’re not reading long-form fiction, doesn’t mean they’re not reading or not enjoying reading. Rant over.

@MichaelRosenYes I’ve had Covid twice with barely any symptoms (I test for my parents who we see regularly and are both vulnerable). I’d happily be part of a trial to see if I have certain antibodies which have protected me, I’ve always wondered if it’s because I had swine flu badly.

Does anyone know if researchers has investigated a bit of 'old' theory re resistance to Covid? ie are there individuals who are resistant to all forms of Covid? If so, has their plasma been examined for any particular strains of antibodies that seem to have given them protection?

@smithsmm Totally agree. There’s a focus on children’s books which sell (to adult readers) rather than books which are enjoyed by children. Particularly in middle-grade. I think of it like one of those old lift indicators with children on one side and adults on the other.

I’ve read quite a few “children’s” books this year which don’t seem to be written for children. A number of them get loads of praise yet I can’t see a child picking them up and reading them. Whenever I read a book my first thought is which child is going to really enjoy it.
