Jeg trodde at Arsenal skulle vinne PL forrige sesong, at de omsider skulle slå ut i full blomst. Synes de tok et steg ned i stedet. Foran kommende sesong har de endelig anskaffet seg en skikkelig 9-er - men er han bra nok? Jeg synes det ser sånn ut, men vi har ingen "bevis" enda.

Når Liverpool og City spiller mot hverandre er det to lag utpå banen som spiller for å vinne kampen. Når Arsenal spiller mot en storklubb spiller de alltid for å ikke tape.

Re: Arsenal Over the years, I’ve loved watching Arsenal play their entertaining, attractive football. With Martin Ødegaard leading the side, I want nothing more than to see him lift trophies as captain. I fully support the idea of improving every aspect of the club, across all departments. But I can’t help asking whether some of these adjustments come at the expense of the attacking football that brought Arsenal so close to winning the titles. Take Declan Rice’s decision to kick the ball straight out for a throw-in from kick-off. I understand the thinking: pinning the opposition deep from the very first seconds. But to me, it also sends a message, that we don’t fully trust ourselves to play in the style we are at our very best. Back in the 90s with Norway, we studied stats on set-pieces and long throw-ins as well, and we made them central to our game. That made sense: we didn’t have the technical quality Arsenal have now. This squad is different, it’s full of players who can dominate through skill, speed, and creativity. I’m not against efficiency, nor am I saying it has to be one way or the other. But my feeling is this: Arsenal would benefit more by doubling down on what has already taken them to the brink of glory, their brave, attacking football.
