Under the chairship of Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, a virtual meeting titled “Serve BRICS 2026 – Volunteering for a Better Tomorrow” was convened today, bringing together government officials and youth representatives from BRICS member countries. The session featured country presentations showcasing national volunteerism ecosystems and initiatives across BRICS nations, fostering mutual learning and collaboration in advancing youth engagement through service. Participants also engaged in focused breakout discussions on key dimensions of volunteerism, including Volunteerism across Cultures, Digital Tools for Volunteer Mobilization, Volunteerism for Environmental Action, and Volunteerism for Disaster Management and Resilience. The discussions were engaging and insightful, reflecting the shared commitment of BRICS nations to strengthening volunteerism and youth participation. #BRICS2026 #BRICSIndiaPresidency #BRICSYouthTrack2026

A roundtable discussion convened by UNDP India and the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at Hotel Ambassador, New Delhi brought together stakeholders from government, industry, and philanthropy to advance youth empowerment for Viksit Bharat where Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, delivered a keynote address on “Youth Empowerment for Viksit Bharat: Advancing Innovation, Skills, and Engagement.”
He emphasized that with over 21 million users, MY Bharat portal is playing a transformative role in enabling experiential learning, nurturing leadership, and expanding access to innovation and nationwide opportunities for volunteering.
The discussion focused on bridging the skills gap, strengthening inclusion, and preparing youth for an AI-driven future in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

This was not merely a formal recognition — but a tribute to the efforts being made to connect youth with policy, economy, and the process of nation-building.
