A Korean blogger claimed that some Japanese restaurants use “double menus”: one with lower prices for locals and another with higher prices for tourists. According to him, after asking for a Japanese-language menu, he discovered that some dishes were almost twice as cheap as in the English version. The blogger claims that this practice allegedly occurs in tourist cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, where menus are selected depending on the customer’s language.
