Trying a complex experiment or method for the first time is likely to feel intimidating, but our thoughts can make it seem worse than it actually is. When you feel that dread, fear, or urge to procrastinate, stop and think about what is driving it. 🧵

One of the best parts of leadership is the opportunity to live out your values in every action that you take and in every decision that you make. This also means that it's essential to know what your values are and to reflect on them regularly.

Your first draft doesn’t define you as a writer. Neither does your second, third, or twenty-seventh draft. What matters is how you grow and develop and hone your creativity and form over time. We are all a work in progress.

We've had the tough jobs. Tough times. But how do we survive these tough times, and transcend the fear, confusion, worry and - occasionally - despair? In #ThePost this week, I probe 'the tent', and how we get out of it, with integrity and decency intact. youtu.be/AfRhUJLQfyA

@j_aneika @PhDVoice I would take a look at the presenters ahead of time, and make a list of people to meet. During the breaks or lunch time of the conference, I would approach those people for any scientific suggestions/interactions/networking. Good luck!

This has been one of the more interesting weeks of my life - we bought a new house and I technically started a new job, all while on family vacation in the mountains.🌲

@norascience1 Or if the experiments are not related to your actual project, you may add the content in the Appendix section.

@PilarM97 @PhDVoice For me visual tricks have worked well. I would put a calendar of to do things on the display board in front of my desk and check the tasks that are completed. Also, spending an hour a day on something you love also helps to recharge. You got this!

Hey everyone!! just a quick question: how do you guys organise your time effectively? I have too MANY things going on for the end of the month and anxiety is already creeping up on me 😣🤯 @PhDVoice #phdlife #phdvoice #phdchat

@JenkinsGaynor @PhDVoice @ThePhDPlace I would first decide the field of conference. You may find out about the conferences of your interest in the company blogs of specific fields, journal pages or by a search on google. Also, following the groups of your research interest on Twitter and LinkedIn helps. Good Luck!

Protocols organised as per specific experiments 🤓 takes a few mins but makes life much easier when working on multiple experiments #phdlife
