Filmmaker David Lynch's Diagram for Transcendental Consciousness is one of the greatest, easiest to understand explanations for how our reality is made of MIND first, MATTER second. I promise this is genuinely worth your time. It's fantastic.

SUPPORT THE AES: EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY The Pan-African revolution is here. It is no longer limited to the realm of theory. Instead, it is underway in the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), comprising Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. In this video clip from a July 2024 podcast episode, African Stream Editor-in-Chief Ahmed Kaballo reminded us that everyone has a role to play in defending the Sahel revolution. Over the past few years, these three countries in Africa’s Sahel region successfully ousted Western-aligned leaders through people-backed coups d’état. Since then, the AES was formed on 6 July 2024 to share policies for greater collaboration to eventually create a Pan-African federal state. The dream is to build continental-wide governance. As Kaballo said, if you're a filmmaker, use your skills to share the AES revolution on screen. If you're a writer, write articles about the AES. If you're a teacher, teach your students about the revolution or send resources to the Thomas Sankara Center @burkinabooks (IG) in Burkina Faso and Niger. If you're an academic, defend the Sahel in your research. If you're a lawyer, use international law to protect the three countries under attack by neo-colonial ‘human rights’ institutions. These are just a few ways to contribute, as everyone has a role to play. Africans, this is our revolution, and we may only have one shot at defending it. Time and time again, imperialists have overthrown our revolutionary processes, k*lled our leaders and destroyed our countries, leaving the masses of our people in destitution. We can put an end to this. But only if we go all out this time. We must defend and protect the Alliance of Sahel States. @AhmedKaballo

SHOWDOWN: NIGERIA’S DANGOTE VS GLOBAL OIL GIANTS There is a straight line from colonial exploitation to modern-day neocolonialism. Most African countries don’t process their raw materials. Instead, value is added abroad, and finished products are reimported, benefiting foreign companies. Multinational corporations dominate African economies, carrying forward a neocolonial legacy of low royalties, tax avoidance, illicit capital flight, minimal local employment and the collapse of local industries. When Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, announced that Nigeria would be moving up the value chain and that he would be building a 20-billion dollar, 650,000-barrels-a-day refinery that would meet domestic needs and export to the rest of Africa, ending the country’s age-old reliance on global oil giants, local importers and state regulators - who for decades have lived comfortably in those giants’ pockets - lost it. Efforts to sabotage the project, the largest single-train refinery in the world, which began operations in January of 2023, got underway. The Dangote refinery, which represents a threat to the West’s lucrative refinery-products market share, has been struggling to acquire enough feedstock of Nigerian crude. Some of Europe’s largest refineries, including Shell and TotalEnergies, have for decades had a stranglehold on Nigeria’s oil industry. They essentially refused to sell crude to the Dangote refinery, insisting on a $6 premium above market price - forcing it to source crude from Brazil and the United States at a higher price. However, the tides are shifting. A new OPEC report reveals that the Dangote refinery has begun impacting European refiners, whose margins are being squeezed. The refinery has surpassed the capacity of Europe’s largest facilities, reducing Nigeria’s dependence on petroleum-product imports from Europe. According to OPEC, gasoline production in Nigeria is freeing up significant volumes in international markets, requiring Europe to find new buyers and adjust trade flows. Experts warn that the Dangote refinery could end the $17-billion-per-year gasoline trade from Europe to Africa, dealing a major blow to European refiners. African Stream’s Erick Gavala takes a deep dive into this high-stakes showdown. Your reactions in the comments are appreciated.

Today, 7 February, we commemorate the 39th death anniversary of Cheikh Anta Diop (1923-86), a luminary in the Pan-African movement.  As a fervent advocate for African history and identity, this distinguished scholar and philosopher devoted his life to challenging and dismantling colonial narratives, striving to reclaim Africa's true essence. Diop's work contested Eurocentric historical perspectives, positioning Africa as a pivotal player in the narrative of human civilisation. His groundbreaking theories on linguistic origins, particularly the 'Paleo-African' hypothesis, ignited essential dialogues regarding Africa's significant intellectual and cultural contributions to global history. He boldly addressed the distortions and biases that had long marginalised African narratives, paving the way for a more accurate comprehension of Africa’s past. His steadfast conviction in Africa's dignity and potential served as a catalyst for the Pan-African movement, encouraging individuals of African descent to unite and honour our collective heritage. Diop underscored the necessity of cultural reclamation, advocating for the rediscovery of our languages, traditions, and knowledge systems. His powerful message resonated profoundly, inspiring liberation and self-determination movements throughout the African continent. Diop died of a heart attack at age 62 in 1986.

This is Venancio Mondlane , the leader of Podemos in Mozambique which is challenging the electoral outcome through massive protests. He has now declared that he is going to install himself as President on the same day Chapo who was announced as the winner is going to be inaugurated. Mondlane is a Forestry engineer who has worked with many big corporate companies including banks, and implemented ISO standards for forestry product exports. Just like Bobi Wine from Uganda, Mondlane has a huge social media appeal and following. I am reminded of how some tech companies in the West push narratives and sentiment on social media towards a desire outcome. I have no doubt there are external forces behind Mondlane, afterall he is a graduate of Barack Obama's Leadership Institute. He is also a Pastor like Zimbabwe's idiot Nelson Chamisa and Malawi's foolish theologian Lazarus Chakwera. Based on his proximity to corporate multinationals, Mondlane would be a dream come true for ExxonMobil, Total Energies, and Eni. Remember, Mozambican gas is something the western cultures want to exploit forever. Here comes the challenge: The biometrics electoral management company contracted by the Mozambican government is Laxton which was founded in South Africa in 2004. The company was brought into the Mozambican electoral turf in 2018 by Artes Graficas wherein biometric voter registration kits were used to prepare for elections leading to accusations of inflated voter numbers in Frelimo strongholds. In 2023, Laxton won a no bid tender worth $127 million to provide a new set of voter registration technology in Mozambique. Laxton's technology and production headquarters are located in Guangzhou, China. In March 2024, China's CNOOC International was awarded five exploration blocks offshore in Mozambique which marked its debut in the gas rich country. Earlier this year, 3 Chinese banks expressed interest in funding the gas pipeline from Mozambique to South Africa. The moment Daniel Chapo was declared as the winner in revised results a few days ago, Chinese President Xi Xinping , and South Africa's ANC did not waste time in congratulating Daniel Chapo regardless of the fact that Mondlane still challenged the revised outcome. Just to veer off, what China has managed to achieve in Mozambique could not be achieved in Botswana because no elections biometric tech was used which makes vote manipulation a geek's paradise. But the Botswana people still got a raw deal as it is Brenthurst Foundation that produced a preferred winner for the West. Back to Mozambique, the current unrest is now a battle of economic interests between the West and China. From a geopolitical logistics perspective, Frelimo stands a better chance of weathering the storm due to itx proximity to Zimbabwe which has been Laxton's playground too, and South Africa's ANC which has vested interests as an administrator for both China and the West. If the West keeps on the pressure, the end result might be a coalition government of which Brenthurst Foundation's Greg Mills will be critical in brokering a win-win for both China and the West. Mondlane is the western man, and Chapo is China's guy. There is no benefit for the average Mozambican in this power struggle. A bit of history about Frelimo - the party has a history with China dating back to the wars for liberation. China's involvement was commissioned by the USA which connived with China to throttle Sovie Union expansion and influence in Africa. This edition is dedicated to...

ANTONY BLINKEN KNOWS WE DON'T WORK FOR RUSSIA In 2024, African Stream was banned from YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, even Gmail and Google Drive after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused us of being Kremlin propagandists. But what if he doesn't believe his own claims, especially since he provided no proof to validate them? In this video clip from our 'Africa's End of Year Review' livestream, journalist Inem Richardson states that Blinken most likely knows that African Stream is not Russian-funded. However, claiming that we're Russian propagandists, puppets and parrots, sounds a lot better than stating outright that the US State Department opposes Pan-African ideas. She also points out that the targeting of Pan-African media is nothing new. Over 100-years ago the then-famous Negro World newspaper run by Marcus Garvey's United Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) was also heavily targeted by imperialist powers. Chad gives France the Boot Chad has become the latest African state to end a defence cooperation pact with former coloniser France.  In a Foreign Ministry statement issued on 28 November, the country straddling the Sahara Desert and the arid Sahel region announced the termination of this pact. The announcement came just hours after French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot’s visit.
