Maize had a successful weekend at NCFL ! Payten LaPoint and Sophie Cox landed themselves a spot as top 4 in the nation finishing in semifinals. And a special shoutout to senior Payten LaPoint who has been in elimination rounds the past 3 years at NCFL placing her 2,3, and 4th!

This solidifies their spot in the top 24 in the nation!

Devon and Marianne drop in Round 10 on a 2-1 decision, ending their incredible four-year careers here at Maize High. Marianne will be debating at Wichita State University next year. Devon will be attending Georgetown University. We are excited to see what their futures hold!

Ending a successful weekend here in Chicago at NCFL nationals! Payten LaPoint and Laney Payne: Top 4 in the nation for Policy Debate! Devin Short and Marianne Griffith: Top 16 in the nation for Policy Debate! Grace Jerke and Mikayla Johnson: Quarterfinalists in Duo!

NCFL has been great! Payten and Laney currently debating semi-finals. Marianne and Devon drop in qtrs to our friends from de soto. Mikayla and Grace end their duo run in quarters.

Both policy teams have received a bye for doubles, securing their place as top sixteen nationally!

Here at the NCFL national tournament in Chicago, both of our policy teams have advanced to elimination debates tomorrow and are top 32 in the nation! Stay tuned for updates tomorrow! Congrats to Devon, Marianne, Payten, and Laney!

NIETOC was a success! Grace and Mikayla finished in octas and brought home our first TOC trophy! so proud of our girls!!

after 7 years maize is back at the NIETOC, and it’s looking “peachy keen” for our duo Jerke & Johnson! they will be advancing into octafinals to represent maize!
