@StephensonLouis @LGSeedsUK It’s something I must try. I’ve been reluctant to blanket treat upto now but feel we are left with no option.

@Maizetechltd @LGSeedsUK We moved away from discing to the rake for various reasons, i wouldn’t say it’s the golden ticket but residual management is important. Have always found putting a mix of pellets in with the seed and some on top to be beneficial

@StephensonLouis @LGSeedsUK I have fields that have been pelleted x 4 this year and still don’t have a viable crop. Not using a stubble rake but i am discing stubbles lightly after harvest, do you think it makes much of a difference?

@Maizetechltd @LGSeedsUK Mixed bag if I’m honest but we very rarely roll in the autumn. Slightly higher seed rates from when were on a plough based system and pelleting with seed and on top of seed bed where needed. Everything is also stubble raked to hopefully reduce numbers

After 18 years clear, TB caught up on us again . We are heartbroken here to lose our iconic Dream cow. A once on a lifetime cow to us. More than just a cow. Herself and 10 more down. Devastating. 💔

Weather models still showing an improving situation in Ireland for next week from Tuesday to Saturday it is looking warmer and dryer. Possibility of some hot weather heading into the Canary Islands and Spain too.

@russbmckenzie @ClaydonDrill Looks great Russell. I’m using twin time for spring crops too. Narrow in twin times for beans, widen out twins for a barley and oats. Like the narrower spacing for spring crops

Impressive establishment with the @ClaydonDrill twin tine kit this spring. When conditions are a bit marginal they make a far better job than the A-shares. Couple of hours to change over, but the end result speaks for itself, nice to have the flexibility in one implement.

@farmboy1060 @ClaydonDrill Certainly would take those conditions right now yes. My preference for slightly narrower rows for spr barley has me using twin tine. It’s a pain to change over though. Have you seen much difference vs A share?

@Maizetechltd @ClaydonDrill I think we changed as we were struggling to get enough seed down the pipes. I can't quite remember. I'd like some dry like those times now. I've since sold the 3 metre and twin tine kit. Not sure I'd go back to it now.

We have knipped over the boarder to Rutland to drill some Diablo S Barley with the @ClaydonDrill twin tine kit. Its going very well. After 10 years using the drill this is the best set up ive found for the spring.

Update on maize sown late November. Sorry to bore you with this but finding it interesting considering the amount of rain we are getting. And compared to panicking with plough and combi last November. I know what I prefer!!!!
