Last night I started the new Drive to Survive. And I kept thinking about the flags. Not the cars. Not the drivers. The flags... The banners. The uniforms. The print jobs. The set designers. The people whose entire career exists inside a world most people consume without thinking twice about who made any of it. Worlds within worlds. Then I watched the One Piece behind the scenes. Same thing. Artists. Creatives. Non-normal jobs that society doesn't put on the poster - but that are very much paid. And yet online, people say there's no money. No clients. Nobody paying the prices you want. The money didn't go anywhere. It just moves toward what people value enough to spend it on. When someone says "I don't have the budget" - they're not lying. They just haven't decided yet that what you do is where that money goes. That's not a money problem. That's a priority problem. Your job isn't to find new money. It's to get in front of the people whose money is already moving in your direction - and be good enough that they point it at you. The money is always moving. Are you in front of it?

Multi-passionate founders need consistency in long-term vision, not single lanes. I work with stuntwomen, app founders, coaches and instructors because humans are complex. Embrace the contradiction.

> Be Keanu Reeves > 61 years old > Looks the same at 61 as 30 > Born in Lebanon > Speed movie made him famous > Had a thing for Sandra Bullock but didn't hit on her > Wears basic clothes > Lived out of hotels for many years > Sometimes eats lunch with homeless people > Okay being by himself & watching a movie alone > Interacts with normal people unlike typical celebs > Gifts motorcycles to his Matrix stunt crew > Starts a foundation without his name on it > Starts a motorcycle company because he loves them > Now makes trippy movies like "Outcome" > Plays in a band called Dogstar > Taking a break from movies to tour with his band in 2026 And Keanu is still the kindest dude in Hollywood who is loved by all. Keanu is badass.

Energy vampire clients disguised as opportunities will drain your business faster than market downturns. Fire bad clients to make room for good ones. Revenue without margin is just expensive charity work.

Someone pitched a live action show about a boy whose body turns into rubber after eating a cursed fruit. He wants to be King of the Pirates. His crew includes a swordsman who fights with three swords - one in his mouth - a navigator who only cares about maps and money, and a chef whose fighting style is entirely kicking. Someone said yes. Season one hit 71.6 million views on Netflix. Season two did 16.8 million views and 136.2 million hours watched in six days. Eiichiro Oda has been drawing this story since 1997. 28 years of one weird, specific, personal creative vision. No pivoting or softening it for a broader audience. No making the main character more conventional because someone in a meeting thought it would test better. Just - this is the story, and I am going to keep building it. I keep thinking about the version where he second-guessed himself. Where he looked at the rubber powers and the three-sword mouth fighting and decided to make it more sensible. That version doesn't exist. Because that version doesn't get made. The sensible version disappears, and the weird, specific, committed version becomes one of the biggest shows on the planet. The thing that makes your work interesting is usually the same thing that makes you nervous to lead with. That is what people come for.

You can keep calling it burnout if you want. But at some point, you have to admit you’ve built a business that requires you to ignore yourself to maintain it.

@mikesaleme Totally agree Mike - content creation is such a powerful tool if you use it.

The identity cost is the part nobody talks about. Every piece of content is a public commitment to who you are and what you stand for. That's not just creative work, it's identity work. And when you break a commitment to yourself by not posting, not following through, not being consistent, the cost isn't just a missed post. It's a small crack in your self-concept. Decision fatigue in content creation isn't about choosing topics. It's about choosing who you are today.

The expensive identity crisis of content creation costs more than money. It costs self-respect every time you break commitments to yourself. Decision fatigue is real. Choose your constraints wisely.

Growing up, mum had a rule for us… "Always bother." Bother to do the thing. Bother to ask the questions. It showed up three times for me today. First, at breakfast with a friend/client. She was sitting on the ridiculous block that she couldn't make money doing something she loved. I told her to just build something fun and take the pressure off. …She bothered to try it. Hell by the end of breakfast she mapped out an entire membership for local mums and was smiling from ear to ear. Second, coming home to a back room that was a disaster zone of unpacked bags. I was desperate for a nap and about to just say fu*k it. But I bothered to clean for 20 minutes first. 45 mins later I had a semblance of an office and napped so hard. The thought of doing the thing is often so much heavier than the thing itself. Third, on my weekly Monday meeting. I already handle graphics and scheduling for a ghostwriting agency. We've been talking about expanding the graphics side so I can phase out of scheduling. I was going to bother to bring it up, because if you don't ask, you don't get it. They actually beat me to it and wanted to talk about the same thing. (Great minds 😉) We skip bothering because we think it will create friction. But bothering is usually what removes it. P.S. Day 17/31 of Messy March chipping practice today. Lincoln loves sitting in the golf net on the roof... until the balls start flying. If your business needs some cleaning up so you actually have time to bother with a hobby, bother me in the DMs with "next" and let's map it out.

officially put in my notice at my 9-5 the other week up till now, i’ve been building wayve in the before work, after work, and on weekends but now, the time has come to bet on myself 100% it’s a leap of faith and there is a lot of uncertainty around it. but im confident in my decision and i know the Universe will be looking out for me doing wayve full time has been my dream for the last 3 years and seeing it finally become reality is surreal i’m incredibly grateful for this little community here on X and for all the people i have met along the way i wouldn’t be in this position if not for all of you i’m getting 50 hours back each week and putting all into the business my full focus, full energy, full heart will be on taking this thing to the moon much love. this is only the beginning 💫

@ChirsCorado One of my mentors said “sell you sawdust” I think it came from a famous photographer. So whatever you already currently do that can be turned into any one of the above. It’s going to be different for everyone ✨

@MajaMHoward Glad you had a safe journey back, Maja. And yes, seems like you've really hit that spot of creating authentic content that speaks to your ICP rather than creating for the sake of it. This will definitely bring in more of the right people, that's for sure.

We are back in Hong Kong. The morning started with a brief moment of panic. I thought I lost my wallet in transit. After tearing through bags I found it wedged under the sofa cushion. Crisis averted. The rest of the morning was a blur of the mundane. Walking Lincoln on the trails up to the village lookout. Two loads of washing A supermarket run Cleaning and unpacking the remnants of a month in South Africa. A quick nap and then touching base with clients. Then I sat down on the sofa... It felt oddly surreal Just like that we are back home The trip is over and the wedding is done. It is easy to get caught up in the planning of an event. And then get caught up in the aftermath of it. I often forget to stay present in the middle. But sitting in that exact same spot on the sofa felt different this time. It is the first time I feel different in the exact same environment. The room is the same The routine is the same But the operator has changed The magic of the trip cme back with me. There is nothing left to prepare for and nothing else to do but create. I used to look at content as another task on the endless checklist. Something to schedule and optimise and push out to feed the machine. But sitting here now I know thats the wrong game. I am looking at my content differently It stops being just another task on the list It becomes the art I am ready to make. Treating the business as a canvas instead of a spreadsheet shifted things for me. I stopped trying to perform for an algorithm and started documenting the actual reality of my work. High-value clients do not connect with a polished facade. They connect with the operator behind it.
