The Dark Knight Rises is Christopher Nolan’s most flawed film but those flaws are largely masked by an outstanding opening sequence & a really well-done conclusion. This isn’t just a great conclusion to one film, it’s a great conclusion to an entire trilogy. P.S….only 97 days.

It’s not even that a Mary Sue is overpowered. You can do female OP characters correctly (Frieren). It’s that the story itself is a vanity project to glaze the MC—and in extension, the women who see her as a self-insert. There’s no deeper insight to be had. It’s shallow by design.
