@KevinApocalypse 100% held back by the initial hurdle of actually learning to play, and then the second hurdle where it actually starts kicking your teeth in. A lot of folks who would LOVE this game never got far enough in to realize it was absolutely their thing.

Despite the mixed things I heard, I'm actually really vibing with Fatal Frame 2 Remake. It's basically what I'd want out of a Fatal Frame remake in a post-RE2R era. The ghosts can be tanky, but if you invest in Focal Point early on, they start to melt by the third chapter.

I think there’s a world where you could have done a version that basically follows a similar threads, but the Ethan thing happens much earlier and Mia plays the rest. You could even finish the same way to still have the Ethan twist payoff. After so much time it’d be even cooler.

I’m all about preference, and there are certainly things in the original RE4 I’d be comfortable saying are easily better than in the remake, but anyone who tries to tell you it’s universally better can’t have played the lake sequence recently, and is deluded about QTE quality.

@KevinApocalypse Counter offer: President’s Evil, where you play as a zombie Adam Benford. The movement controls are awkward, like the first moments trying to walk in Death Stranding, but by the end your third eye has opened and you’ve learned to love again. Also you kill innocents for fun.
