@Josepha7c I am hoping not, it wouldn't really make sense with what's been established. For example, in the Roku novels, we learn he had a twin that died as a young preteen. His brother was an amazing firebender, but he wasn't the Avatar, only Roku was.

Are we going to be getting two Avatars in this new series?

@spehsswolf @literaturedevil Avatar was like that since the very beginning. All the characters are POC, the best Earthbender was a disabled 12 year old girl. Great Avatars have been women as well, a trans character existed (albeit very subtle). Avatar has always been "woke". And it was betted for it.

@Mal454a @literaturedevil We'll wait and see. But I don't have my hopes up, since too many franchises in the past years decided that DEI is the way to go. And by DEI, they usually mean women, brown people, and the alphabet mafia, and nothing else.

@spehsswolf @literaturedevil The correct word would have been "changes" instead of "alternates". My bad, english is not my first language. Roku -> Aang -> Korra -> Pavi. It was 2 boys in a row, now it's two girls. I don't see the problem in that.

@heemeeraa I also sometimes write abreviations by accident when working on a story (habit got from texting) but for that to pass the first draft and then also the editors? That's crazy

@jeesh97x @literaturedevil Last time it was two males, now two females. All that means is that the avatar isn't always a girl or a boy. Their gender changes across incarnations. Yes, the creators have said they'll explore more asian cultures. Look at Pavi, she seems to be of indian descent.

@Mal454a @literaturedevil its inspired by asain cultures but its not based in the actual asia continent so the avatar can be any race. also it does not alternate between male and female, who was the avatar before aang? oh right roku so unless one of them is female?

@BorrachinhaMMA this is not a historical film, it is based on a story. also no country has just one race, ancient greece had people from africa and asia as well, obv not a lot but they existed.

This trend where every movie has to feature people of all races—even historical films set in places where only one race existed—is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in cinema.

@tillytildaa @starstrc LiS 2 just like LiS. BTS is a non-union project. Union actors can't work on non-union projects thus they brought in BTS David who is non-union instead of OG David who is a union actor. Only union game in the series was 1.

@starstrc It's not just chloe, pretty much every single VA is different in BtS compared to LiS1 because of the va guild strikes The thing that is interesting to me though is that they kept Davids VA from BtS when they got him back for LiS2, the strikes were over by that point so 🤷‍♀️
