OT fans aren’t toxic. PT fans aren’t toxic. ST fans aren’t toxic. Toxic fans are toxic. It’s not what you’re a fan of that’s the problem with this fandom, it’s what kind of fan you are.

@Chaospoetog @OotyMcTooty My starting point is if someone just won’t accept that you love Star Wars they hate. There are a bunch of other tells but if someone thinks their opinions are objective fact, then they are definitely toxic & will never care for anyone else’s opinions

@OotyMcTooty One question no one seems to be able to answer: Who decides WHAT is toxic? Is having objections toxic? Is pointing out flaws toxic? Is pointing out how much money something lost toxic? Is flawed, toxic business practices toxic? Is being a sycophant toxic? What is the definition?

@MalTheWook @QuiGonJenna I think one of the modern problems is the alt-right looked at sci-fandom and thought "there's a lot of young white males there - the perfect demographic to try and recruit". You can see the same in recent years with Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc. Fandom gets invaded by extremists.

Carrie was a feminist icon & a lot of insecure men hated her bossing the boys around but most of them gave her a pass & I must say your life must be very sheltered. I just stumbled across a post where people were discussing TPM's 25th Anniversary re-release & how much they all wanted to see it in theaters...but they refused to because they didn't want to be labeled "shills." 🤦🏻‍♀️ Just go have fun & enjoy the movie. I promise it'll be okay.
