The federal immigration judge set bond at $1,500, which she said was the lowest amount possible, per the nonprofit working with Manuel-Andres. DHS has up to 30 days to decide whether to file an appeal — and Manuel-Andres will remain detained during that time, per the nonprofit.

Caregivers fear that the proposed federal cuts put critical resources at risk.
