I have written to the Chief Election Commissioner, expressing deep concern over the Election Commission’s arbitrary and unprecedented actions. The large-scale transfer of senior officials, without consultation, reason, or any allegation of misconduct, seriously disrupts administration and raises questions about institutional neutrality. At a time when the flawed SIR process continues and supplementary rolls remain unpublished despite Supreme Court directions, such moves only deepen uncertainty and hinder citizens’ rights. These actions risk undermining democratic principles and cooperative federalism. I have urged the Commission to desist from such unilateral decisions and uphold fairness, transparency, and the rights of the people.

The manner in which the Election Commission has singled out and targeted Bengal is not just unprecedented- It is deeply alarming. Even before the formal notification of elections, more than 50 senior officials including the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, ADGs, IGs, DIGs, District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police have been summarily and arbitrarily removed. This is not administrative action rather this is political interference of the highest order. The systematic politicisation of institutions meant to remain impartial is a direct assault on the Constitution. At a time when a deeply flawed SIR process is underway and over 200 lives have already been lost, the conduct of the Commission reflects a clear bias and an uncomfortable submission to political interests, continuing to put the people of Bengal at risk. Supplementary electoral rolls are still not published, in clear disregard of the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s directions, leaving citizens anxious and uncertain. Meanwhile, senior officers from critical agencies like IB, STF and CID are being selectively removed and dispatched out of the state, pointing to a calculated attempt to cripple Bengal’s administrative machinery. Why is the BJP so desperate? Why this relentless targeting of Bengal and its people? What satisfaction do they derive from forcing citizens, even after 78 years of Independence, to stand in queues and prove their own citizenship? The contradictions in the Commission’s actions expose its complete collapse of credibility. It claims that removed officers should not be assigned election duties, yet within hours, the same officers are sent out as election observers. The appointment of the Commissioners of Police of Siliguri and Bidhannagar as observers, without even putting replacements in place, left two vital urban centres effectively headless. It was only after this glaring lapse came to light that rushed corrections followed. This is not governance. It reflects chaos, confusion and sheer incompetence being passed off as authority. This is not incidental, it points to a deliberate design to seize control of West Bengal through coercion and institutional manipulation. What we are witnessing is nothing short of an undeclared emergency and an unpromulgated form of president’s rule driven by political vendetta, not democratic principles. Having failed to win the trust of Bengal’s people, the BJP is now attempting to capture the state through coercion, intimidation, manipulation and the misuse of institutions. I stand in complete solidarity with every officer of the Government of West Bengal and their families, who are being targeted simply for serving the state with honesty and commitment. Bengal has never bowed to intimidation and it never will. Bengal will fight, Bengal will resist and Bengal will decisively defeat every attempt to impose a divisive and destructive agenda on its soil.

জয় হরিবল জয় হরিচাঁদ, জয় গুরুচাঁদ মধুকৃষ্ণা ত্রয়োদশীর পুণ্যলগ্নে, মহাবারুণী, পূর্ণব্রহ্ম শ্রী শ্রী হরিচাঁদ ঠাকুরের আবির্ভাব তিথিতে তাঁকে জানাই আমার বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা ও প্রণাম। এই উপলক্ষে আমি সমগ্র বিশ্বের সকল সাধু, গোঁসাই, দলপতি, মতুয়াভক্তবৃন্দ সহ সকলকে জানাই আমার অনেক অনেক শুভেচ্ছা, অভিনন্দন ও ভালোবাসা। এটা আমাদের গর্ব যে তাঁকে সম্মান জানিয়ে তাঁর জন্মদিবসে সরকারি ছুটি ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। 'হাতে কাম, মুখে নাম'— এই মহান মন্ত্রের মধ্য দিয়ে এই পতিতপাবন মহামানব আমাদের শিখিয়েছেন কর্ম ও ভক্তির সমন্বয়। শোষিত, বঞ্চিত এবং পিছিয়ে পড়া মানুষের অধিকার রক্ষায় ও সমাজ সংস্কারে তাঁর অবদান চিরস্মরণীয়। মতুয়া সম্প্রদায়ের আত্মিক ও সামাজিক উত্তরণে তাঁর প্রদর্শিত পথ আমাদের কাছে আলোর দিশারী। তাঁর প্রতিষ্ঠিত মতুয়া মহাসংঘ সামাজিক সাম্য ও ভ্রাতৃত্বের এক স্তম্ভ হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। তাঁর ও শ্রী শ্রী গুরুচাঁদ ঠাকুরের দেখানো পথে, মতুয়া সমাজের সার্বিক কল্যাণের জন্য আমরাও নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছি। মতুয়া বিকাশ পর্ষদ ও নমঃশূদ্র বিকাশ পর্ষদ গঠন করা হয়েছে। ঠাকুরনগরে, ঠাকুরবাড়ির কাছাকাছি হরিচাঁদ-গুরুচাঁদ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় করা হয়েছে। কৃষ্ণনগরে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে হরিচাঁদ গুরুচাঁদ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এক্সটেনশন ক্যাম্পাস। গাইঘাটায় পি আর ঠাকুর সরকারি কলেজ করা হয়েছে। পানীয় জলের জন্য হাবড়া-গাইঘাটা – ‘জলতৃপ্তি’ জল প্রকল্প করা হয়েছে। ইছামতী নদীর ওপর মুড়িঘাটা ব্রিজ ও বলদেঘাটা খালের ওপর কুঠিপাড়া নাগবাড়ি ব্রিজ তৈরী করা হয়েছে। গাইঘাটায় নতুন ITI ও Polytechnic কলেজ করা হয়েছে। গাইঘাটায় হয়েছে কিষাণ মান্ডি। ঠাকুরনগরের বিখ্যাত ফুলবাজার ও ফুল-চাষীদের কথা মাথায় রেখে ওখানে অনেক পদক্ষেপ করা হয়েছে। ঠাকুরনগরকে ঢেলে সাজানো হয়েছে। আমাদের সরকার অসামান্য সামাজিক অবদানের জন্য বড়মা'কে রাজ্যের সর্বোচ্চ সম্মান 'বঙ্গবিভূষণ'-এ ভূষিত করেছে। শ্রীশ্রী হরিচাঁদ ঠাকুর যে লড়াইয়ের সূচনা করেছিলেন, তা ছিল মানুষের আত্মসম্মান ও মৌলিক অধিকার রক্ষার লড়াই। আজ বড়ই বেদনার সঙ্গে দেখছি, সেই পবিত্র সংগ্রামকে কালিমালিপ্ত করার চেষ্টা করছে বিজেপি সরকার। ভোটার তালিকা সংশোধনের নামে তারা আসলে মানুষের নাগরিকত্বের অধিকার কেড়ে নিতে চাইছে, মানুষের মনে ভয় ধরিয়ে দিচ্ছে। যারা যুগ যুগ ধরে এই মাটির সন্তান, যারা এ দেশের প্রকৃত নাগরিক, তাদের অধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়ার এই চক্রান্ত আমি কোনোভাবেই মেনে নেব না। মতুয়া ভাই-বোনেদের অধিকার রক্ষায় আমি অতীতেও পাশে ছিলাম, আজও আছি এবং ভবিষ্যতেও অতন্দ্র প্রহরীর মতো লড়াই চালিয়ে যাব। মনে রাখবেন, বাংলার মাটিতে মানুষের অধিকার নিয়ে ছিনিমিনি খেলতে আমি কাউকে দেব না।

I am happy to announce that our Ma-Mati-Manush government has delivered on its promise to all its employees and pensioners, and to lakhs of teachers and non-teaching staff of our educational institutions, as well as employees/ pensioners of our other grant-in-aid instititions like panchayats, municipal bodies, other local bodies etc. They will start receiving their ROPA 2009 DA arrears from March 2026 onwards as per the modalities detailed out in the Notifications issued by our Finance Department.

I am pleased to announce an increase of ₹500 in the monthly honorariums extended to our purohits and muezzins, whose service sustains the spiritual and social life of our communities. With this revision, they will now receive ₹2,000 per month. At the same time, all fresh applications that have been duly submitted by purohits and muezzins have also been approved by the State Government. We take pride in nurturing an environment where every community and every tradition is valued and strengthened. Our endeavour remains to ensure that the custodians of our rich spiritual heritage receive the recognition and support they deserve.

বাংলার কৃষকের স্বার্থে আমরা দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ।

কৃষক দিবসে সকল আমার সকল কৃষক ভাইবোন ও তাঁদের পরিবারকে জানাই গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা। নন্দীগ্রামে কৃষিজমি আন্দোলনের শহীদদের স্মৃতির প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়ে প্রতিবছর এই দিনটিকে আমরা ‘কৃষক দিবস’ হিসেবে পালন করি। আমাদের কৃষকরা আমাদের গর্ব। তাঁরাই আমাদের অন্নদাতা। তাই তাঁদের প্রতিটি প্রয়োজনে আমরা তাঁদের পাশে থাকি। ‘কৃষকবন্ধু (নতুন)’ প্রকল্পে আর্থিক সহায়তা থেকে শুরু করে ন্যায্য মূল্যে বিক্রি, শস্য বিমার যাবতীয় খরচ বহন করা থেকে শুরু করে প্রাকৃতিক বিপর্যয়ে আর্থিক সহায়তা, কৃষকের অকাল মৃত্যুতে কৃষক পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়ানো থেকে শুরু করে কৃষক পেনশন প্রদান, ১৮৬টি ‘কিষাণ মান্ডি’ চালু করা থেকে শুরু করে বিনামূল্যে কৃষি যন্ত্র প্রদান – সবকিছুই আমরা করেছি। কৃষকবন্ধু (নতুন) প্রকল্পে কৃষক, বর্গাদার, ভাগচাষীরা এখন বছরে ১০০০০ টাকা করে পান। যার সামান্য জমিও আছে তিনিও ন্যূনতম ৪০০০ টাকা পান। এই টাকা দুই কিস্তিতে, খরিফ আর রবি মরশুমে সরাসরি ব্যাঙ্ক অ্যাকাউন্টে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। এই প্রকল্পে এখন পর্যন্ত মোট ৩০০৫১ কোটি টাকা আর্থিক সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে। উপকৃত হয়েছেন মোট ১.১৪ কোটিরও বেশি কৃষক, বর্গাদার ও ভাগচাষি। এবার কৃষক, বর্গাদার এবং ভাগচাষিদের পাশাপাশি খেতমজুরদেরও বছরে দুই কিস্তিতে ৪,০০০ টাকা আর্থিক সহায়তা দেওয়া হচ্ছে। মোট প্রায় ২৮ লক্ষ আবেদনকারীদের ব্যাঙ্ক একাউন্টে গত ৮ই মার্চ থেকেই টাকা পাঠানো শুরু হয়ে গেছে। কৃষকবন্ধু (মৃত্যুজনিত সহায়তা) পেয়েছেন ১.৭০ লক্ষের বেশি কৃষক পরিবার। এই খাতে ৩৪১৯ কোটি টাকা প্রদান করা হয়েছে। বাংলা শস্য বিমা যোজনায় প্রিমিয়াম-এর পুরো খরচ দেয় রাজ্য সরকার। এখনো পর্যন্ত ১.১৫ কোটি কৃষক ৪০০৫ কোটি টাকার বেশি বাংলা শস্য বিমার ক্ষতিপূরণ পেয়েছেন। কৃষি যান্ত্রিকীকরণ প্রকল্পে এ পর্যন্ত ৬.০১ লক্ষেরও বেশি কৃষিযন্ত্র কৃষকদের মধ্যে বিতরণ করা হয়েছে। খরচ হয়েছে ১৩২১ কোটি টাকার বেশি। এছাড়া, সরকারি সাহায্যে ২৫২৫টি কৃষিযন্ত্রাদি ভাড়া কেন্দ্র করা হয়েছে। আধুনিক যন্ত্রের ব্যবহারে কৃষি উৎপাদন বাড়ছে যার সুফল পাচ্ছেন কৃষকরা। ফসলের অভাবী বিক্রি বন্ধ করার জন্য রাজ্য সরকার ন্যূনতম সহায়ক মূল্যে ধান ক্রয় করছে। এই বছর ৭০ লক্ষ মেট্রিক টন ধান কেনা হচ্ছে। এছাড়া, প্রয়োজন মত অন্যান্য ফসলের ন্যায্য মূল্যে ক্রয়ের ব্যবস্থাও করা হচ্ছে। আগামীদিনেও আমরা এভাবেই আমাদের কৃষকদের পাশে থাকবো।

I am pleased to announce that our government intends to constitute soon five new Cultural and Development Boards for the Munda (ST), Kora (ST), Dom (SC), Kumbhakar (OBC) and Sadgope (OBC) communities. These communities are integral to the vibrant fabric of Bengal. My heartiest congratulations to all of them. These boards will protect their unique languages and traditions while ensuring better education, healthcare, and jobs. They will safeguard customary rights and bring further socio-economic growth. ​ ​Since 2013, we have established many such boards for our weaker communities, ensuring their all-round development. ​ ​Our commitment to Ma, Mati, Manush means, we remain dedicated to ensuring no community is left behind. I am very happy to announce the constitution and notification of the West Bengal Traders’ Welfare Board (WBTWB) which I committed at the State Traders’ Convention and the Business & Industry Conclave in December, 2025. We fulfill what we promise! This was a long-standing demand of our trading community. My heartiest congratulations to them. The Board will provide an institutional platform for regular dialogue and coordination between the trading community and the Government, with representation from every district of the State. It will work to address the concerns of lakhs of traders. The Chairperson of the Board will be the President of the Confederation of West Bengal Traders Association (CWBTA), the State’s apex body of traders, ensuring strong representation from the community itself. Our traders are the backbone of Bengal’s economy. We remain committed to standing with them and working together to build a stronger, more vibrant economic future for our State.

After concluding our five-day dharna at Dharmatala, I took a moment to personally meet C. V. Ananda Bose, the Hon’ble Ex Governor of West Bengal, ahead of his departure tomorrow. Dr. Bose is an erudite and distinguished individual, and during his tenure I had the opportunity to engage with him on matters concerning the welfare and progress of our state and its people. I have always valued these interactions. I extend my warmest wishes to Dr. Bose for all his future endeavours. I am confident that with his wisdom and experience, he will continue to honour any responsibility he undertakes in the days to come.

What we are witnessing today is unprecedented, deeply unfortunate, and a direct assault on the democratic foundations of this republic. In their "One Nation, One Leader, One Party" frenzy, BJP has systematically weaponised every democratic institution and every constitutional post to serve their own Jono-Birodhi ambitions. For years, they have unleashed Central agencies, National Commissions, a servile Godi Media, and a compliant section of the judiciary against Bengal. They are misusing the Vanish Commission to erase legitimate voters from electoral rolls. This is what they want. They want to replace Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution with their party manifesto. I have not stood for this. I will not stand for this. Our dharna at Dharmatala is our answer to every Bangla-Birodhi agenda that seeks to humiliate, intimidate, and persecute the people of this state. BJP's only priority is power. My priority is and has always been people. These Zamindars of Delhi will never succeed in their mission to subjugate this great land. Bengal rose to break the shackles of colonial rule. Bengal will rise again to pave the way for BJP's inevitable downfall.
