@Moore4Jersey @JerseyDiplo They are only clearing up the unaffordable mess you left behind. Or have you forgotten that you were running the Island into the ground just two years ago, before being diplomatically voted out?

The Minister for External Relations, Deputy @Ian_Gorst, is proposing amendments to the Trusts (Jersey) Law 1984, on the recommendation of the Trusts Law Working Group. It includes: clarifying that a sole trustee cannot resign without a successor trustee being in place, and the circumstances in which beneficiaries of a trust can call for the trust to come to an end; and to confirm the priority of a secured lender's interest in or over trust property in relation to a trustee's debts. Sharon here speaks for the silent majority of landlords. Most landlords have no problem with my proposals for tenancies which are fair to both sides but make exploitation harder, and are happy to submit their rent increases to a Tribunal’s view if necessary. Thank you Sharon 🙏

@leecarps @JEPnews @StatesAssembly I am a landlord , everything that Sam has in his proposal I already have in the lease and I would hope others do similar without needing anew law but it seems greed wins everytime .

When is this bitter woman who still promotes any online hatred of Israel she can find, going to be dealt with? @JerseyPolice

Women whom object to being forced to share their single sex spaces with biological male “trans” are not Nazis. We are females - women and girls. Scummy thing to have repeated, when so many of us are grandchildren, or children of the survivors of the German Occupation 1940-45🇯🇪

Pride is one of my favourite times of the year — joyful, defiant, and rooted in solidarity. As Minister for Social Security and Deputy Leader of @ReformJersey , I’m always proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️‍🌈 #PrideJersey #LGBTQ #ReformJersey #SocialJustice

What an amazing time at Pride today 🌈 Remember, it carries on until late tonight, so still time to go an enjoy the celebrations.

States Assembly - Jersey's elected parliament
The Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel questioned the Minister for Social Security, Deputy @lyndsayfeltham, in a Quarterly Public Hearing today. During questioning, the Panel discovered: • A Ministerial group set up to tackle the cost of living crisis has not met since March. The Panel is disappointed to hear this and will be writing to the Ministers involved to better understand why that is, and to ascertain whether the issue is still a priority. The Panel also want to know what plans are in place to tackle child poverty, pensioner poverty and high cost of living experienced by Islanders. • A supplier is in place to deliver the Transform project which will improve the IT system within the department. The Proof of Concept is on track to be delivered in August with the first of five phases delivered by June 2026. The Panel heard that the lessons learned from similar projects both locally and worldwide had been reflected on, and the project team has been told to make savings where it can. • Conversations are continuing regarding the potential transfer of the Health Insurance Fund from the Social Security Department to the Health Department. The Minister agreed there would be merit in moving the fund so it can be considered as part of the whole funding landscape for health. However, any move would require assurances that the money would be protected for use for GPs and should not happen until the structural and governance reforms within the health sector have been achieved. • Three claims relating to pregnancy and maternity were made to the Employment Tribunal Service last year compared to seven in 2023. The Minister admitted that communication to employers and employees regarding parental rights needs improving and committed to asking JACS to update and refresh its communications to make it more user friendly. You can share your views on the impact and understanding of recent changes to the Employment Law regarding parental rights by completing a short survey: bit.ly/43HRcod Watch the Hearing back via our website: bit.ly/3ZniwqN or on YouTube: bit.ly/3FOCvb4

@Getonthelash2 @SamMezecJsy If Hamas laid down arms, released the hostages and gave up, this wouldn't end, Israel would still ethnically cleanse Gaza and settle there. Just look at their actions and words over the last 20 months, October 7 was purely a way to a means for them. And where is Hamas in W Bank?

No need for a petition to get some of us States Assembly members to do this. I condemn Israel’s actions in Gaza. I am horrified that the crime of our generation is unfolding before us and the international community is doing nothing meaningful to stop it.
States Assembly - Jersey's elected parliament@StatesAssembly

A new petition has been launched by a member of the public: 'Ask the States Assembly to condemn Israel's actions in Gaza'. Read more and sign: bit.ly/45c9rVn Petitions with 5,000+ signatures may be considered for debate by the States Assembly, which may lead to a change in the law.

The ongoing and relentless anti-trans rhetoric in the Jersey Evening Post is divisive and harmful. Our trans community are people — they deserve dignity, respect and safety. We must challenge this discourse and stand for inclusion. 🏳️‍⚧️ #TransRightsAreHumanRights #JerseyCI

@lyndsayfeltham Be careful. Plenty of women in Sport are pleased at this court decision, and you don't want to lose them as Reform Jersey voters. We all have to respect court decisions. We are not all Ozouf's.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for Housing…crisis averted? 🔍 The event offered islanders a chance to hear from a panel of industry experts exploring whether the island is still in the midst of a housing crisis – and, if so, what needs to be done to resolve it.

@philbalderson @SamMezecJsy Hamas and the 7th October is wholly to blame for all this carnage. They could have released hostages months ago to stop all the bombing. Jersey cannot do anything about this conflict since Trump says he wants Gaza. Its sad but true.

@SamMezecJsy @SamMezecJsy I’m with you—the Mar 2 blockade is dire, starving 2M in Gaza, and may break Geneva rules. Still, Hamas could siphon aid (FDD ‘24: 20-30%). Can we add stricter checks to ensure aid helps families? What do you think?

Last year, Jersey Overseas Aid gave £150,000 to the WFP to support the emergency efforts in Gaza. I have asked what our government agencies are doing to take action to stop the Israeli government from preventing our donations reaching the starving people we wish to save.
World Food Programme@WFP

WFP has run out of food in #Gaza as borders crossings remain closed. Two million people inside Gaza rely entirely on food assistance to survive. The situation is at breaking point. We need food to reach Gaza. We need access — now.
