Well. That was deflating. Really disappointing way to end a season and a series that was so close to being so much more I started this account way too late but it’s been fun watching with you guys. We’ll talk this summer and get back at in October… but until then 🩵 #TusksUp

You want reliability? Look no further Across 12 full-time NHL seasons, Anders Lee missed just 45 games for the Islanders 29 of those came at the tail end of the shortened 2020-21 season and in a post COVID world, he’s been out of the team just 7 times #TusksUp

@JohnDoe01373802 Yep. I’ll admit my mistake on this one. Sergachev is undoubtedly the more accomplished player. I think being on Team USA at the Olympics and being one of the top scorers on a few really good teams does give Trocheck’s name some serious cache though. Casual fans will know him.

@MammothStatsX Sergachev was a bigger name when he was acquired. Still in his prime and won 2 cups.

In truth, this is probably the first big name the Mammoth have ever acquired Trocheck has struggled with injuries at times and is 32 but in all 7 seasons where he’s played at least 75 games, he’s scored 20 goals or more If he’s on the ice, you’ve got a solid pickup #TusksUp

@koho7777 You have a point. I think some of his playoff heroics and being a top scorer on some good teams would make Trocheck more notable to some casual fans, but it’s undoubtedly between the two of them.

@koho7777 With all due respect to those guys, Trocheck has an Olympic gold medal around his neck and a couple ASG selections. He’s got some pretty serious cache.

Since I’m talking a lot about head to head matchups today, here’s who Utah have fared the best and worst against Best? Vancouver… 6-0, +14 Minnesota… 5-1-1, +11 Winnipeg… 5-2 overall, 4-0 at home Worst? New Jersey… 0-4, -9 Edmonton… 1-4-1, -15 Colorado… 2-5, -7 #TusksUp

Sports are funny because Utah has actually been really good against St Louis with the exception of those lopsided last day losses Take those out and Utah is 4-2 against the Blues all-time, has won each by 2 or more, and both losses are by just a single goal #TusksUp

And again to piggyback off Brogan, Utah has lost both those games and rather convincingly too I might add Last year was a 5-3 loss at home, the year before was a 6-1 shellacking where the Mammoth fell behind 4-0 in the opening period Here’s to hoping for better 😅

Who wants puck for breakfast? 😅 The Mammoth will play not one, not two, but three morning local time games this season Puck drop for each will be 11 am back in Utah at Nashville on November 27th at Washington on February 14th at Carolina on March 7th #TusksUp

Time to plan the road trips... Vegas Nov 11 and Dec 3 it looks like...

In terms of outright sample size, there’s no team Utah has played more in its first two seasons than Chicago (8x, tied with St Louis and Dallas) The Mammoth are just 3-2-3 against the Blackhawks, but are 2-1-1 in the Delta Center #TusksUp

To piggyback off this, 13 of Utah’s first 19 games are on the road. That includes separate 5-game and 6-game road trips almost exclusively out east with the exception of a single game in Vegas to wrap up that last one in early November 😬

Oh, and the Winter Classic is on December 31st at Rice-Eccles (Go Utes, might lose a follow or two for that lol) but that’s old news by now

Peeke was uhh, decidedly not good in Boston and probably even worse in Columbus before that. Maybe Utah thinks they can get a tune out of him though His -41 was the worst in the entire NHL in 2022-23 and a mark of -78 over the last 5 years, is 10th worst league-wide #TusksUp

At 35 and entering his 15th season in the league, Lee is undoubtedly past his prime. But if the playoffs showed us anything, it’s that Utah needs a veteran presence 923 career regular season games and 46 Stanley Cup playoff games will take care of that 👏 #TusksUp
