Now they want to rewrite the NEM rules. The electrical grid in Australia was built like a one-way highway. Now it’s a two-way, high-speed, constantly shifting system and it costs far more to run than anyone admitted upfront. Instead of pricing that complexity honestly from the start, they’re now wanting to rewrite the rules to recover the costs. They want to shift the model from: “pay for what you use” to “pay just to be connected.” That’s not a small tweak, that’s a complete redesign of how energy is paid for and it’s extremely inappropriate.

Are they just gonna keep their own spare batteries at some location half way? Who will then charge them? Long haul doesn’t work.

@ManDownUnder76 @Markle2k @ABCmediawatch That’s being covered by a different methodology. For instance, companies converting diesel trucks to EV are using swappable battery packs. The packs take about 5 minutes to swap. Drivers have to take breaks, so this shouldn’t be a problem. LiFePO4 batteries are fine for this.

An example of how they cook the books to absolve the Left of violence in the WSJ today: A graph it published that seems to show near parity between Left and Right wing political violence is sourced to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, which by its own admission reclassified pro-Palestinian violence as "ethnonationalist". It classifies all antisemitism as Right-wing, and all pro-Palestinian "attacks on Jewish individuals or institutions" as "ethnonationalist." This is just nakedly partisan propaganda presented as "data" and then mainstreamed in the American press. More in my column below linked.
