PROGRAMMING NOTE: This comes up often in high school coverage: “Why didn’t you write about (player, team or coach X) who (hit milestone Y)?” Answer: “We didn’t know.” There is a perception that we in the media know everything about every high school team. We don’t. In college and pro sports, there are literal teams of people who provide stats and information. Not to mention there are far more high school teams in North Carolina than D1 schools in America. And in high school, that team media operations thing doesn’t exist, and you posting it on your social media page doesn’t mean we will see it. If something big or good or memorable happens, email us (best way), DM or tag (DM or tagging can get tricky).
