Cheddar is riding a vintage supercar worth hundreds of thousands of dollars while a US$16 million court judgment sits over his head. 🤔 Either this man is playing the biggest mind game in Ghana’s business history. Or there is something about this case we don’t fully know yet. Because a man with THIS kind of asset can settle a $16M debt and still have plenty left. So why hasn’t he? 👀 Cash flow. Legal strategy. Or something else entirely. This story is not over.

BREAKING | The High Court has ordered the takeover of No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel in Osu, Accra. 🚨 The hotel, linked to Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar) through his company Kensington Residential Partners 1 Limited, is at the centre of a debt enforcement case brought by UK-based Cola Holdings Limited. Cola Holdings registered a security interest over the property under the Borrowers and Lenders Act, 2020 (Act 1052). When attempts to peacefully take possession of the property failed, Cola Holdings and their appointed Receiver Nii Amanor Dodoo applied to the court for police assistance. On July 21, 2026, Justice Samuel Faraday Johnson of the Commercial Division of the High Court granted the warrant. The court found that Cola Holdings had followed the full legal process correctly. Kensington Residential Partners 1 Limited opposed the application but the court dismissed their objections, finding insufficient evidence to prevent the order. Cola Holdings was represented by veteran lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata. Cheddar’s company was represented by Bobby Banson. The court order is specifically for police assistance to enforce the security rights. It does not determine any other outstanding claims between the parties. What this means in plain language: Cola Holdings lent money. The hotel was used as collateral. The debt was not resolved. The lender went to court. The court said, take the hotel. This is a business and legal matter still unfolding. No final judgment on all issues has been delivered yet. The lesson for every Ghanaian entrepreneur and investor: Collateral is not just paperwork. When you pledge an asset, it can be taken. Legally. With police. In broad daylight. Protect your assets. Understand every agreement before you sign.
