To safeguard public health, the Cabinet has approved a nationwide asbestos removal initiative from all public and private facilities. This initiative aims to mitigate the serious health risks associated with asbestos exposure.
Asbestos, widely used in Kenya’s construction industry during the 1960s and 1970s, remains present in government buildings, hospitals, schools, and even water supply systems. Classified as a human carcinogen, asbestos exposure is linked to severe health conditions, including lung cancer and mesothelioma—a cancer affecting the lining of the lungs, abdomen, and heart.
This critical step reinforces the commitment to creating healthier and safer environments for all.

This morning ,I joined Inooro FM’s "Hagaria" Show to discuss the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) under the Social Health Authority (SHA), a significant step in Kenya’s journey toward affordable, quality healthcare for all.
I highlighted the benefits of our revamped health cover, which now includes family-wide coverage under a single plan.
It provides access to emergency and critical care services, such as dialysis and chemotherapy, as well as expanded inpatient and outpatient services.
We’re also addressing chronic illness management and enhancing maternal and child health services.
Additionally, we are broadening access to mental healthcare, and providing rehabilitative and palliative care, among other essential services.
I urge Kenyans to continue registering through *147# to benefit from the enhanced cover.

Just as October ushers in a season of renewal, my birthday serves as a reminder that growth, evolution and vibrancy are always within our grasp. I am anticipating another year of commitment, effort and mindfulness. I am an October scorpio baby!
I am truly grateful to God for the journey and all the years He has blessed me with.
