The Big law firms are hoping to set aside the legal code on procedural/ reviewable grounds. They rather keep the generic code as it is now at the very least until the Minister corrects it. 2.3. The Minister of Justice, Johannesburg Bar Association, Minister of Trade are opposing the matter arguing that the codes are necessary to advance transformation in the legal profession. 2.4. This is a landmark case and most renowned SCs will be present such as Ngcukaitobi SC, Sello SC, Hofmeyr SC, Arendse SC, Bham SC, Pillay SC, Motau SC, Nalane SC and Matabase SC. 3.
