How do you ask young people in the diaspora to invest back home when they fear losing everything they work for? We want to build Zimbabwe. We want to come home. @HonMachakaire I can’t see any youthies in there. The amount of gen Zs of Zimbabwean descent in Birmingham universities /and in graduate jobs of Zimbabwean descent can fill that small room. Those ought to be your target audience. But you have to be prepared to answer difficult questions.

@ManexyM @Zweli_Thixo There is no Zimbabwean in SA with valid documents. Even the documents you submit to the Home Affairs are fraudulent. From birth certificates from your home country, to qualifications, to experience on your CVs, all fraudulent unfortunately. No honest Zimbabwean. Ever.

My passport, will expire in July. I've had to go to the SA embassy here in China to apply for a new one. Generally, it is advised to apply for the renewal at least 8 MONTHS in advance. Not knowing this has led me to pay quite a hefty amount to ensure that the process is expedited from back home. When my passport returns, I'm supposed to go to the Chinese Migration office to have a new visa stamped on it. Then I need to go to the police station to redeclare my residential address. There are few other steps that I have to fulfill to ensure that my new passport reflects on every system I use here in China. One thing I've noticed, even from other foreigners from other African countries who are here, they carry this panic feeling whenever they have to renew their visas... It's a stressful and rigorous process. I've met quite a number of them who are here on study Visas. If they miss a couple of classes, they are in trouble. Because what else are you doing besides being a student? THIS is a result of an EFFECIENT immigration control system. If you are found to have overstayed your welcome, you are deported with no discussions, no protests, no negotiations or greasing of the palms... You HAVE to go! Meanwhile in my home country...
