GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE…👏👏👏 Political MATURITY is demonstrated when leaders choose to serve beyond SLOGANS or partisan politics, but PRIORITISE the fundamental needs of the PEOPLE they serve. For far too long, Zimbabwean OPPOSITION politics has been deeply POLARISED, characterised by INDIVIDUALISM and a relentless refusal to acknowledge tangible DEVELOPMENT delivered by the RULING PARTY, ZANU PF. Under the visionary leadership of H.E. President E. D. Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe has seen TRANSFORMATIVE socio-economic development from the iconic TRABABLAS Interchange, to the worldclass Beitbridge–Harare Highway, SMART GMB silos and the refurbishment of major referral hospitals such as PARIRENYATWA, to name but a few. Despite these MAJOR milestones, the opposition remains trapped in a cycle of DENIAL and choosing to CRITICISE everything done by the RULING PARTY just for the sake of it. I was however VERY IMPRESSED and wish to commend how HON. SUSAN MATSUNGA MP for Budiriro North, demonstrated a rare level of POLITICAL MATURITY a few weeks back by PRAISING the President at the unveiling of boreholes under the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme. Despite being labelled a “SELLOUT” by fellow opposition members, she chose to put her CONSTITUENCY FIRST and expressed her DEEPEST GRATITUDE to President Mnangagwa and ZANU PF for ensuring that the residents of Budiriro North have access to CLEAN and SAFE WATER. While others spend ALL their time on social media demanding “NEW LEADERS” or abandoning their own party then claim that “GOD IS IN IT,” 🤣🤣🤣 this is one opposition MP who has chosen to SERVE the people who voted for her in TRUTH. Ironically, it is the same OPPOSITION-LED City of Harare that has DISMALLY FAILED to deliver basic water supply to the residents, yet when their MP thanks the SECOND REPUBLIC for drilling boreholes, they CRITICIZE her and claim she is a sellout. My dear sister Hon. Matsunga, you have shown that being an MP is not merely a TITLE, but an ASSIGNMENT from the people which you must DELIVER on. Just by acknowledging the PRESIDENT and the benefits of the Presidential Borehole Scheme irrespective of its political source, you have set yourself apart from the rest and I choose to CELEBRATE you today 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. President Mnangagwa is not just a leader of ZANU PF, but a LEADER FOR ALL who is committed to leaving NO ONE and NO PLACE BEHIND. It is in recognition of your COURAGE and INTEGRITY that I am glad to extend my sincere appreciation to you, my sister. Subject to your OWN HEIRACHY in the CCC approving and even yourself agreeing, please GO AND SEE VICTOR at Exquisite Car Dealership and collect your brand new 2026 TOYOTA FORTUNER 4x4 2,4 GD6 that has been fully paid for. You will also receive US$50,000 to be channeled towards COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT and EMPOWERING the youth and women in Budiriro North. I must CATEGORICALLY state that this is NOT an inducement or invitation for you to abandon your party CCC. No, NOT AT ALL !!! it is simply recognition of and APPRECIATION for your POLITICAL MATURITY and EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP as an MP. Zimbabwe is a DEMOCRACY, and your political choices remain entirely YOURS, guided by your own principles and personal convictions. However, as the President has always said, ZANU-PF remains a PEOPLE’S PARTY with an OPEN-DOOR POLICY, and we warmly WELCOME anyone who believes in DEVELOPMENT and NATIONAL PROGRESS. Should you choose to join the WINNING TEAM, we will welcome you with OPEN ARMS. #Vision_2030 🇿🇼 #ED_Works 🐊🐊🐊🦁 #PoliticalMaturity #ED_Huchi✊🏽✊🏽🐊 #Presidential_Borehole_Drilling_Scheme ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽🦁🦁 #Give_Credit_Where_It_Is_Due

It is great to be back in the belly of the beast — the United States Thanks Cornell University and New York University for the past week. It was wonderful meeting up at Cornell with Professor Ed Mabaya and Distinguished author NoViolet Bulawayo (We need New Names & Glory), both teaching at Cornell! Zimbabweans are indeed making moves globally. It was also great catching up with the Zim diaspora in the New York City area Next stop Columbia University, UN, MIT and Harvard Zimbos around these spaces please DM

Retired Lt General Winston Sigauke Mapuranga
I was in Murewa. In a Roman Catholic church. Sitting in a pew like any other congregant. An old soldier, a war veteran, a Roman Catholic attending Saturday mass as I have done for most of my adult life. And I watched General Constantino Chiwenga stand before that congregation and speak. I was there. I heard it with my own ears. I am not reporting what someone told me. I am not relaying a secondhand account. I sat in that church in Murewa this morning and I listened to the Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe tell the story of King Hezekiah. And I understood every word. Not just as a Catholic. As a soldier. As a Zimbabwean who has watched this country for six decades. A king told his time was up. Who demanded more. Who received it. And whose extra years brought war, suffering, and consequences that his nation not he himself had to bear. What I witnessed in that church today was not a sermon. It was a warning. I left that church in Murewa with one obligation to say plainly, in the language of a soldier rather than the language of scripture, what General Chiwenga said carefully in the language of faith.Let me now do that. Without metaphor. Without diplomatic softening. Without the careful language of a man who is protecting himself from consequences.I am 75 years old. I am a Roman Catholic. I have nothing to protect. I have everything to say. To those pushing CAB3 hear me clearly. You are not dealing with a political opposition. You are not dealing with NGOs funded from outside. You are not dealing with Twitter activists and diaspora noise. You are not dealing with a weakened MDC or a fragmented civic society that can be arrested into silence. You are dealing with the Zimbabwe Defence Forces. And the Zimbabwe Defence Forces do not forget. They do not tire. And they do not stop. I want to be constitutionally precise about what I mean because precision matters and because I will not give anyone the satisfaction of misquoting me.Section 212 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe mandates the Zimbabwe Defence Forces to uphold this Constitution. Not to observe it. Not to note it. Not to file it in a cabinet and hope that Parliament respects it. To uphold it. Actively. Against whatever threatens it. From whatever quarter that threat originates. Including from within. Now let us apply that mandate to what CAB3 Nonsense is doing. It is removing the direct election of the President by the people the most fundamental democratic right in Zimbabwe's constitutional architecture. It is circumventing the referendum that Section 328 explicitly requires. It is being pushed through a Parliament whose composition was itself the product of electoral processes that this same institution the Zimbabwe Defence Forces was deployed to protect. And citizens attempting to organise opposition arrested. Public meetings banned. The Constitutional Defence Forum blocked from assembling in Mutare. Tendai Biti on bail for doing what ZANU-PF does freely every single day. Tell me at what point does the institution mandated by Section 212 to uphold this Constitution decide that the threshold has been crossed? I will not answer that question for those who are currently in uniform. That is not my place and it would be improper. But I will tell the architects of CAB3 something that their own political calculations appear to have missed. You did not ask the Zimbabwe Defence Forces whether they support CAB3. You assumed their compliance. You assumed that the reshuffles, the recalls, the promotions of returned retirees, the systematic thinning of General Chiwenga's network inside the institution you assumed that all of that had produced an institution that would stand aside. That assumption is the most dangerous political miscalculation in Zimbabwe since 2017.

We have been collecting voices today. From Murewa. From Mutare. From Harare. From Bulawayo. From Binga. From Chipinge. From the diaspora in Johannesburg, in London, in Auckland, in Toronto. Ordinary Zimbabweans. Not politicians. Not analysts. Not generals. Not constitutional lawyers. The people. And this is what they are saying tonight. "I was in that church in Murewa this morning. When General Chiwenga said those extra years brought war and suffering I looked at my neighbour and we both knew exactly what he meant. We need this man as our president."Congregant, Murewa Roman Catholic Church. "I am a war veteran. I fought for this country. I watched my colleagues die for this country. And I am telling you the only man who understands what we sacrificed, the only man who has himself sacrificed in the way that we sacrificed, is General Chiwenga. He is our candidate. 2028." War Veteran, Mashonaland East "I am 26 years old. I was not born when the liberation war happened. I was a child when November 2017 happened. But I know one thing CAB3 is trying to take away my right to choose my own president. And the man who is fighting for that right is Chiwenga. He has my vote." Young Zimbabwean, Harare "In my village we have a borehole now. We have solar. We are grateful for the development. But development without democracy is just a nicer prison. We want both. We want the boreholes AND we want to choose our president. Chiwenga understands this. That is why they are afraid of him." Village Elder, Mashonaland Central "I have been in the diaspora for fifteen years. I left because Zimbabwe failed to keep its promises to my generation. I am watching CAB3 from here and I am telling you if this passes, I will never go back. But if Chiwenga becomes president through a free election in 2028 that is the Zimbabwe I left. That is the Zimbabwe I will go back to." Zimbabwean Diaspora, United Kingdom "I am a nurse at Parirenyatwa. I have watched this hospital being refurbished and I am grateful. But I also know that no hospital refurbishment means anything if the system that governs us cannot be held accountable. We need Chiwenga. We need 2028. We need our vote." Healthcare Worker, Harare "My father fought in the liberation war. He told me before he died we did not fight for one man to rule forever. We fought for the people to choose. If my father were alive today he would say one thing Chiwenga 2028. Direct election. The people's choice." Son of a War Veteran, Bulawayo "I am a teacher. I teach history. And what I am watching right now the banning of meetings, the arrests, the constitutional amendments without referendums I have taught my students about this. It is the chapter before the chapter where things go very wrong. Chiwenga is the correction. 2028 is the moment." Secondary School Teacher, Masvingo "General Chiwenga stood in a Catholic church in Murewa this morning and warned this country in the language of scripture. He said the extra years brought war and suffering. I am a pastor. I understood every word. And I am telling my congregation this Sunday pray for Zimbabwe. Pray for the Constitution. And pray that in 2028 the people get to choose."Roman Catholic Father, Mashonaland East "I am a soldier's wife. My husband served this country for twenty-five years. He was passed over for promotion when a recalled retiree came back and jumped the queue. He said nothing publicly because he still wears the uniform. But I will say it for him. The institution is broken. Gen Chiwenga is the only one who can fix it. 2028." Wife of a Serving ZDF Officer "CAB3 is not about Vision 2030. It is about one man's vision for himself. The people of Zimbabwe are not fooled. We see what others miss. Gen Chiwenga 2028. Hatidi CAB3." Zimbabwean Citizen, Gweru

Viewed beyond Emmerson Mnangagwa as the immediate beneficiary, the parliamentary election of the president in the CAB3, on a bigger picture presents a meaningful institutional pathway for greater political inclusion. In particular, it can expand opportunities for ethnic minority groups to access executive power, mitigating the structural disadvantages often embedded in majoritarian electoral systems. From a political science perspective, such an arrangement may enhance representational equity and foster broader regional participation in national leadership. In that sense, it offers certain historically marginalised regions a more credible opportunity to contend for the presidency. I like it.

Getting in touch should be mutual. Don't complain that I don't phone or visit you when you never do the same to me. It shouldn't be one-sided. If we don't phone nor visit each other, it simply means we aren't that close. Please let's just keep it that way.... Mind your own business & I will also mind mine. No stress! No friction! Just staying in one's lane. SIMPLE.....😎

POLITICS rewards loyalty & competence. There are folks who think “sitting on the fence” is the best strategy, IT’S NOT. Politicians always remember who openly stood with them when it mattered most. Good leaders are also good followers… Those who fail this test NEVER rise to the apex, they just ends as dots in history… Zimbabwean politics is moving to a new level in a few months. CAB3 will be passed, & political rewards & punishment will certainly follow. In the least, know the difference between winners & losers. Aligning with losers is the biggest mistake any politician can make…. President @edmnangagwa is not an average politician…. he knows the game better than ANYONE alive in Zimbabwe at the moment…. Only those who chose to learn from him will triumph, those who mistakenly thought they are smarter than him will certainly learn the hard way.
