GBAって当時子供だった人にとっては青春そのものなんだけど、既に大きかった人にとっては、なんかいつの間に出てて、スーファミのゲームの劣化移植がいくつか出て、DSが出ていつの間に終わってたって印象でかなり世代間ギャップがあると思うんだよな

I never realized just how short the lifespan of the GBA was relative to most Nintendo systems until now. 2001-2004 for the library that it had while STILL managing to sell over 80 million units (which is more than 3DS got in almost double the time) is very impressive.

【アレクは赤ん坊に恋愛感情があったのか？】 おさなごアレックスが生まれたばかりのパトリシアを抱いているシーンに嫌悪感があるという意見もけっこういただきました。小さい頃から面倒みていて恋愛感情があったのかと。私の意見を簡単に書こうと思います。 「そんなわけないでしょう」です。 問題提起するのも答えるのもばかばかしい気がします。自分が6歳前後(推定)のとき、赤ん坊がやってきたとして異性(恋愛対象)だと認識するでしょうか。私はしないでしょう。このときアレックスが「オレが守る」と誓ったのでそう捉えた方もいるかもしれません。しかし私の考えは違います。 パトリシアがやってきたのはいつだったでしょう。アレックスが両親を亡くしトムに引き取られ、1年ほど経った頃です。アレク本人はまだめそめそしていたといいます。小さな子供に両親の死のダメージは大きかったことでしょう。まだ立ち直れていないのです。そこにやってきた赤ん坊がパトリシアです。「助けてやってくれ」というトムに「守る」と答えるアレックス。私はここを「亡くした両親と新たな命」つまり「死と生」の対比だと取りました。アレックスの前から消えていった命と、アレックスの前に現れた小さな命。この子の命を守ることが、アレックスの生きる希望へとつながったのです。 別のところでも書きましたが、パトリシアはものごころつくときから、アレックスを兄ではない(遠い親戚)と教えられていたのだと思います。ストIIIのときでも「兄のように慕う」とありましたのでおそらく正解でしょう。同じ家で暮らしていたとはいえ、ふたりは幼なじみに近い関係だったのではないでしょうか。そして前作をプレイしていないと知ることはできませんが、ずっといっしょにいたわけではなく、年頃になるとアレックスが家を出てひとり暮らしをしていたことも付け加えます。 ここから先スト6までは公式の説明のない空白の数年間です。長い時間をかけ、「兄妹のような幼なじみ」から「大切な人」に変わっていったと思われます。 赤ん坊を抱いたアレクを見て「性的だ」「グルーミングだ」はあまりにも、あまりにも、短絡的で行間を読む力がなさすぎませんか。私には「生きる希望」「命の輝き」に見えました。
