it's hard for me to identify masculine virtues that i don't think are just general virtues, such as courage, integrity, and temperance. manosphere virtues seem to revolve around physical strength, money, and sex. these are rooted in narcissism, which is not a virtue

All manosphere influencers seem to think they have worked out masculinity from first principles, free of social norms. But if you transplanted them to the last century, people would have assumed they were bizarrely vain. You didn't see DI Burnside on The Bill going to a gym unless it was to arrest the proprietor.

@_marokiya Atlanta is more like a fancy Charlotte than a southern LA/NYC/Chi. If people moved there with those expectations they'd like the city more. Sorta like how Baltimore is like a fancy Cleveland

Men are much more likely to define themselves (and other people) by what they habitually do so you'll often see men's friend groups as different variations of each other as opposed to a more cosmopolitan mixing that women will have

"Birds of a feather flock together" is much more applicable to men than women in my experience. I've never encountered a men's friend group that is as diverse/broad as a women's friend group
