Ghana is 69 🇬🇭... Grandparent age in human years and presumably wise. I won’t begrudge the celebrations. But in my adult life, Independence Day hits more like solemn reflection and desperately clinging onto hope that we will stop destroying our collective future. Galamsey must stop ASAP. Free posterity from its scourge.  InshaAllah one day - in my lifetime - we’ll mend what’s broken, reimagine ourselves, and build a nation on honesty, creativity, and real productivity. Not just potential, dysfunction, greed, GYE NYAME AND VIBES.  To be a Ghanaian is a wonderful thing as vexing as this country can be. This snippet from a recent chat with the visionary Ibrahim Mahama reminds me… never delete hope from the equation. I love you, Ghana. Love me back wai ❤️
