Pretty stoked to be part of the Gemini 3.1 highlights reel!

New year, new project! Check out the ultra-lightweight @ManifoldCAD kernel wrapped in a sleek minimal interface and connected to a language model. If you're a surface geek, you know lofts are everything. I made it possible to ask for them in plain English! Try: "make a loft a between a circle 25 mm diameter and a square with a 25 mm side, 40 mm tall" You can also select flat faces to help guide the agent where to add features, like you would in a traditional CAD program. I built that feature as I was designing the second part in this post, which I needed to hang some LED panels in my friend's studio. I coded it up with some help from the agent, downloaded it and printed it on my P1S. And the third part? Just ask the model for a donut and it appears. Totally useless but very cool, especially in low poly. Disclaimer: the model has very few examples right now, so it does a lot of dumb things, but it will improve rapidly, and it is very satisfying when it gets something right. It should understand requests for lofts, sweeps, shells and (very satisfyingly) full body drafts. Up next: cross sections, speech recognition, order-able FDM prints, STEP file imports.

#Manifold v3.3 is out! This is a huge update to our #npm package and ManifoldCAD: you can now import libraries from Node.js, CDNs, and local scripts. This #3D compiler is now included in our manifold-3d package for use via Node, web, and CLI.
