Domino's is failing in India because of a pizza brand from chandigarh In fact I can bet that you don't know about this brand, well they're La pino'z But how are they exactly robbing Domino's market share? Sanam Kapoor founded La pinoz from chandigarh, they are a proper bootstrapped company, last year their revenue was close to 1000 crore. For context domino's revenue is 5,200 crore In the last 10 years Dominos revenue grew by 3.5x whereas La pinoz revenue grew by 250x approx. Like most QSR, La pinoz had a franchise model but what La pinoz did really well is understanding the consumer Sanam understood that every Indian city is different hence he gave franchise owners a lot of freedom on how they wanted to operate according to the local conditions Hence La pinoz was a massive hit in Gujarat when they positioned them as a vegetarian brand In fact they doubled down on Tier 2/3 cities, where there was less competition and consumers there wanted high value for less prices Hence they started selling large pizza slices for less than 100rs
